You'd be responsible for:


Coaching, evaluating and training staff and field workers in the performance of landscape construction services Inspecting all field work; analyzing and resolving problems Managing labor force & subcontractors to ensure labor budgets are on track Maintaining accurate daily and weekly Foremen and Superintendent activity logs; updating production tracking reports and generating other related reports as needed Dispatching of labor and equipment to job sites Managing equipment utilization on projects, equipment storage and maintenance Ensuring that all construction services are delivered according to contract specifications & drawings, are within budget and on schedule Meeting and exceeding the expectations and requirements of external and internal customers - working with staff to ensure same Working collaboratively with others; fostering a positive "people oriented" environment Evaluating employee safety data and promoting safe work practices or conditions; r ensuring employees attend weekly safety meetings Demonstrating role model behaviors on ethics and integrity as well as positively promoting Company culture


You might be a good fit if you have:


Minimum of 3 years' experience with landscape, concrete, irrigation and construction production techniques Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management or related Expert knowledge of construction tools, machinery and equipment


And while not mandatory, it would be great if you also have:


Proficiency with computer software programs including MS Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) Strong work ethic Effective oral and written communication skills Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment Customer service experience Bilingual (Spanish)

As an Electrical Construction Site Superintendent, you are vital to our work installing MDOT traffic signals. Under your supervision, the work moves smoothly and we better our performance every time. Each day, you arrive at the job site eager to complete the installation in a safe and efficient manner. You are confident in the plan and schedule you've made and do your utmost to stick to them. Before and throughout the job, you coordinate with customers, inspectors, utility companies, and subcontractors to make sure that everyone is on the same page. As the work proceeds, you use your expertise in traffic signal installation to guide your efforts. You also encourage open and fluid communication so that any errors are corrected right away. At the end of the day, you step back and examine the completed installation. It's clear that the traffic flows better and the community is safer because of your efforts. The Construction Superintendent reports to the Senior Project Manager and manages all aspects of construction at the assigned project site. Primary responsibilities include working directly with the Senior Project Manager to derive and define scopes of work, track the project budget and maintain the project timeline.

The Construction Superintendent should have the following minimal skills and abilities:

+ On site, the Superintendent coordinates all subcontractors and oversees the day-to-day activities of construction, including scheduling, inspections, quality control, safety, monitoring of construction budgets, and accountability for all related expenditures.

+ Works closely with Project Management for utilities, permits, plan checks, and Certificates of Occupancy to obtain all necessary approvals.

+ Directs subcontractors, vendors and subordinates.

+ Provides periodic written reporting and scheduling updates.

+ Evaluates situations and renders decisions on certain issues without immediate supervision.

+ Understands and implements OSHA safety requirements site wide.

+ Knowledgeable of SWPPP requirements site wide and mitigates any impact to the outlying community.

+ Maintains a safe and compliant work site on a daily basis.

+ Relates favorably with others beyond giving and receiving instructions; performs work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others and responding appropriately.

+ Effectively influences people on a consistent basis.

+ Makes generalizations, evaluations or decisions without immediate supervision.

+ Accepts and carries out responsibility for direction, control, and planning.

+ Must be willing to travel as required by location of project.

+ Must attend Company sponsored events that relate to the development of the team, which, from time to time, may include overnight stays at locations away from the employee's home.

The Construction Superintendent should have the following qualifications:

+ Minimum 15 years overall experience in construction supervision.

+ Minimum 10 years' experience in the construction of government DoD projects.

+ Experience working with city, government and other inspectors on construction projects.

+ Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Primavera P6 a plus.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication.

+ Demonstrate a professional demeanor.

+ High School diploma, with higher education courses

+ Construction related degree preferred
