What You'll Be Doing
KBW's Investment Banking 10-Week Summer Analyst Program provides students with a hands-on introduction to the role of an Analyst. You will work alongside our banking professionals, from the Analyst through the Managing Director levels, and will gain exposure to a variety of transactions, including merger and acquisition advisory services as well as debt and equity financings.
The Summer Analyst internship program is designed to provide an opportunity for career exploration and to enhance the development of students' potential. The program is structured to provide each Summer Analyst with the support needed for a successful summer, beginning with a robust training program. There is also a formal mentorship program, social networking events, mid and end of summer reviews, and significant learning opportunities outside of your day-to-day projects.

What You'll Bring
The program will provide Summer Analyst with an in-depth understanding of the daily responsibilities of an Investment Banking analyst. Interns will assume significant responsibilities that include but are not limited to the following:
* Support deal teams in creating, maintaining, and utilizing complex financial models to analyze company projections or potential transactions
* Perform financial and valuation analysis such as discounted cash flow analysis and multiple valuation analysis
* Conduct company and industry research and gain an in-depth understanding of sector trends
* Prepare client presentation materials in coordination with internal deal team and clients
* Develop a deep understanding of Investment Banking products and services by participating in client calls or meetings
* Engage in company and credit-oriented research and due diligence processes
* Prepare financial and transaction documents including marketing memoranda
* Contribute to the development and communication of proposals and advice to current and prospective clients

This is an intern level position responsible for supporting the associates and functions within the ERM department, including monitoring and reporting key risks throughout the bank, Model Risk Management, and additional initiatives as they arise.

Requirements
Analysts will support all members of their team on a variety of healthcare engagements. Primary responsibilities will be data collection, client financial analysis, financial modeling, due diligence, report writing, and supporting senior level staff. Provides expert opinions and advisory services, acting as an independent third party, performing business valuations in support of healthcare transactions to ensure regulatory compliance, assist clients without experience in valuation, or to provide both parties comfort that the consideration included in a transaction is consistent with market levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gather information and data such as, but not limited to, financial statements, operational reports, industry and market research, and any other data or information required to thoroughly provide the contracted product to the client.
Construct and take ownership of complex financial models utilized to determine the value of ownership interests in healthcare-related entities.
Perform various financial analyses, develop financial models, conduct due diligence, and complete report writing. Review own work and that of teammates to ensure quality of product.
Participate in calls and site visits as necessary and determined by supervisors.
Keep all team members informed of project progress and keep all projects and deliverables on the time schedule established with the client. Immediately inform supervisor if circumstances arise to impede or jeopardize that timeline.
Actively pursue continuing education and certifications such as CFA, NACVA, American Society of Appraisers, Certified Public Accounting, etc.
Desire to become a thought leader within the industry by helping author internal and external content for articles and presentations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
Acquiring financial modeling experience through university and/or internships
