Diesel Mechanic Position Summary:
This position is required to safely and accurately perform general property and vehicle maintenance & repair duties in and around the shop operations in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge and understanding of basic preventative maintenance and repair techniques of Class 5 through Class 8 commercial vehicles to include tank trailer inspection and maintenance related to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations is required.
Diesel Mechanic Essential Functions:
All fleet mechanic positions will be required to perform vehicle maintenance & repair duties safely and accurately in and around the shop operations in a fast-paced environment.
Fleet Mechanic Apprenticeswill receive hands on training and instruction on preventive maintenance/inspections/repairs of Class 5 through Class 8 Commercial Vehicles and maintenance/inspection of tank trailers.
Fleet Mechanic Levels I & IIwill learn and become proficient utilizing the company's maintenance software program to create and complete work orders and maintain work order/vehicle maintenance records. They will also train/assist other technicians in performing preventive/repair of facilities and equipment to include trucks, tractors, and trailers.
Fleet Mechanic Level III will build on the duties from Diesel Mechanic I/II and become qualified as necessary with appropriate certifications to perform new technology evaluations, diagnosis, and repairs.
HM183 will build on the duties of a Level III Diesel Mechanic, Certified as a (DOT) commercial motor vehicle inspector in compliance with FMCSR's
Has been signing test forms as the Registered Inspector for at least 3 years.

Requirements for Diesel Mechanic Level I, II, and III Positions:
Valid Driver's License
Minimum 1 - 5 years of experience in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance/repair (Tech levels will be determined by years of experience and certifications)
Holds a current Air Brake Certification in compliance with FMSCR 396.25 or has at least 1 year of verifiable experience with the ability to obtain Air Brake Certification through KAG
EPA 609 certification (Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning Repair) or the ability to obtain certification through KAG
Requirements for Diesel Mechanic HM183 Positions:
Valid Driver's License
Verifiable proof of 3-year tank testing commercial motor vehicle inspector in compliance with FMSCR or has at least 1 year of verifiable experience under a qualified inspector with the ability to obtain (DOT) commercial motor vehicle inspector certification through KAG
Physical Requirements:
LIFTING REQUIREMENTS: Frequently lifting up to 50 pounds. Anything over 50 pounds is lifted with assistance.

Keep work areas clean. Return all equipment and tools to assigned areas. A&P Technicians will report all inoperative or faulty equipment to the Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Mechanic in charge.
Work will consist of and include any and all phases of repair and maintenance of aircraft with the aid of the employee's own tools, specialty tools provided by the Company, the use of test equipment, and Company-supplied technical manuals.
In certain cases, and A&P Technician may be authorized to perform required inspection items and assist in Company training programs.
Will at the commencement of each repair or inspection initiate the proper documentation. Parts tags will include a complete description of the discrepancy on all removed parts. Determine if the work to be performed is a Required Inspection Item.
Verifying, through proper documentation, that any part installed on any aircraft or component is approved for that aircraft or component and has been visually inspected and is free of damage or contamination.
Assure that hangar workshops and other areas assigned are maintained in an orderly manner.
Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor through the Lead Mechanic.

Training AMTs by assisting with troubleshooting chronic or complex out of service aircraft as well as training other aircraft maintenance tasks as assigned.

Run Taxi/Qualified (within 120 days) AMA if applicable.

What You'll Do
Complete maintenance work orders and preventive maintenance
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical & electrical equipment
Perform building and grounds repairs
Install, modify, and improve machinery
Keep work areas safe and clean
Support continuous improvement efforts
Higher levels (II, III, Senior):
Work independently with minimal guidance
Lead troubleshooting with production teams
Fabricate, weld, and assist with engineering improvements
Mentor others and lead facility-wide improvement projects
What You Bring
Tech I: 2-5 years maintenance experience; mechanical/electrical skills; welding a plus
Tech II: Industrial maintenance training; basic welding
Tech III: 3-10 years manufacturing maintenance; strong mechanical & electrical troubleshooting
Senior: 10+ years experience; expert-level mechanical/electrical skills; leadership ability
Requirements
High school diploma/GED
Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot equipment
Strong mechanical & electrical aptitude
Able to use hand tools, power tools, welding/burning equipment, and lifts
Meets ITAR/EAR eligibility requirements
Physical Requirements
Standing/walking up to 8 hrs

What You Will Do:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing mid-to-expert-level break-fix and preventive maintenance tasks. Daily functions will be highly diversified and may include observing devices in operation to locate root cause of issue; dismantling machines to gain access to and remove defective parts; examine defective parts to detect cause, adjustment of functional parts of machines and control instruments; repair and/or replacement as needed, testing of machines to observe performance; and performing tests for electrical circuitry and mechanical systems; reconditioning and repairing machining tools; maintain, troubleshoot, or repair equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the organization's business goals and objectives.
Essential Duties and Tasks:
Perform general electrical and mechanical maintenance of machinery and equipment
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic production equipment
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using appropriate testing devices
Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems
Ability to weld as needed (ARC, MIG, or TIG)
Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building's electricity. Working on damaged electrical wiring or installing new
Perform mechanical skills, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery
Work from schematics, drawings, layouts, or other specifications to locate and diagnose problems.
Operate various platform lifts, including but not limited to forklifts, aerial lifts, and scissor lifts
Operate the overhead crane when necessary
Use a variety of hand/power tools and material handling equipment in performing duties
Fix potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
Follow lockout tagout protocol as required
Assists other maintenance staff with necessary maintenance and repairs as required. Responds to daily facility work orders and works on special projects
Diligence to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and that any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked
Effective communication and people skills
Performing cleaning activities as needed
Follow all safety-related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines
Operate with situational awareness, identify unsafe behaviors and conditions, and communicate concerns to management
Maintains a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping duties and keeping the work area free from hazards
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment
Ability to operate autonomously and self-direct
Good and reliable attendance and a team-player attitude are necessary
Follow all Hi-Tek policies and procedures, including the use of proper PPE
Perform under AS9100 standards
Physical Conditions:
Lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to thirty-five pounds regularly
Standing or walking at least 95% of the scheduled shift
Routinely perform reaching overhead / at or below shoulder level, twisting, bending, crouching, kneeling, and grasping to move and set tools, equipment, and materials
Ability to perform fine and gross manipulation
Ability to operate foot or leg controls
Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, or scaffolding
Near, Far, or Peripheral visual Acuity naturally or with corrective lenses
Ability to speak to express or exchange ideas, or discuss work instructions
Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds, e.g., machinery alarms, equipment troubleshooting, management instruction, and operator feedback on issues needing maintenance or repair
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color perception, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 20/20 vision (natural or corrected) required, with the ability to pass the annual vision test as required
Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required
Completion of a maintenance certificate program from either a two-year college or technical school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment is required
Knowledge of CNC machines, distributed control systems, and logic controllers required
Understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems
Ability to work with low-voltage systems
Experience with E & I (Electrical & Instrumentation) work preferred
Troubleshooting / critical thinking skills
Must meet the ITAR definition of §120.15 U.S. person
