The SHRM Editor, Compensation and Benefits provides high-value resources to SHRM members by finding, reporting, writing, editing, curating and packaging online news, content and e-newsletters targeted to our customer segments and focused on specific or a variety of disciplines. online news about employee pay, benefits, wellness and total rewards for the SHRM Online website, SHRM e-newsletters, and occasionally for HR Magazine and other SHRM publications.
The editor will write or assign articles on employee health, retirement, work/life benefits, compensation strategy and planning, pay rates and pay equity issues, looking at developing trends, best practices and compliance challenges. A key aim is to provide news and information that helps HR professionals recruit, motivate and retain high-quality workers by offering competitive pay and benefit packages.
The editor will also post content online using the SHRM content management system and update the Compensation and Benefits landing and resource web pages as new content becomes available.
The editor will exchange information with other SHRM departments, including Government Affairs, Research, the Knowledge Center and Media Affairs.
Work Environment:
Work is regularly performed in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. Travel Required: Occasional 0-10%.
Responsibilities
* Write and edit high-quality, well-informed articles about issues faced by the HR professional for an audience of current and prospective SHRM members.
* Responsible for commissioning and editing content from freelance writers for publishing.
* Curate the SHRM's Compensation and Benefits News-newsletter in the areas of expertise and others as assigned.
* Post content online and update/maintain landing pages, resource pages and other digital collections.

* Master's Degree

* CEBS certification

Picture Head online editor job description
- Responsible for editing highly professional, polished and accurate online editorial including but not limited to TV spots, promos, trailers, publicity sizzle reels along with any additional various content aligning with company and industry standards. Responsible for final deliverable renders of finished assets.
- Partners with Picture Head’s post-production producers, supervisors, and coordinators to quality check each edited video package for visual errors and rectify, where necessary to ensure accuracy of each product/project before delivery.
- Must readily absorb and understand technical specs necessary for every spot requirement including, but not limited to, luminance levels, color spaces (including ACES), aspect ratios, title safe, etc. Must be able to work as part of a finishing team that includes other editors, colorists, producers, and mixers.
- Works closely with finishing staff in order to successfully deliver the project in a timely manner by meeting clients’ deadlines.
- Must possess strong client presentation skills and have the ability to make creative changes with producers and clients, including edit changes, client note revisions, basic MPA fixes, graphic revisions, etc. on the spot while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Possess a proficient and keen understanding of file-based workflows; having an understanding of both import and export settings, project set up, preparing and updating timeline for colorists, as well as all aspects of the media management experience. Experience with HDR workflows and finishing (DolbyVision and HDR10) a must.
- Familiarity with various file types (.EXR, .DPX, .TIFF, ProRes etc), original camera media files, as well as comfort with EDLs, XMLs, and AAFs.
- Continuously discover and partner with management team to implement new editing techniques, technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of editorial deliveries.
- Responsible for editorial on executive assigned projects, special projects and future clients.
- Ability to edit quickly and accurately under pressure based on the finishing staff and clients’ ever-changing inputs, direction and expectations.
- Ability to work longer hours and weekends as needed
Required Skills:
- Must be proficient in BlackMagic Resolve and/or Baselight with hands on experience at a marketing post-production facility Specializing in TV Spot / Promo Finishing
- Candidate must thrive in a fast paced, creative environment. This is a deadline driven business and on-time delivery of technically accurate material is essential.
- Editor must work well with others and possess excellent communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Basic understanding of color correction tools within Resolve and/or Baselight for minor color correction. A desire to expand color knowledge and an interest in color work is highly desirable.
- Skill in compositing/painting/basic VFX work in Fusion and/or Baselight
- Editorial skills in other platforms such as Flame or Premiere are a plus
- Experience in long-form or episodic editorial also a plus
Qualifications:
- Solid background in post-production.
- At least 5 years of professional online editorial experience in Resolve and/or Baselight, other editing platforms and compositing a plus.
