Responsible for the billing, review and follow-up of all outstanding patient clinic accounts. This includes but is not limited to timely review of Patient Accounting Desktop, Clearinghouse billing list and Intermediary on line error list. Contact insurance companies and patients, filing primary, secondary and tertiary insurance, re-bills, and review payment remittance. Review line item denials and claim rejections for possible appeal and/or research for resubmission. Be proficient in the use of multiple payer software systems. The knowledge of billing codes including CPT, ICD9, ICD10, HCPCS, Modifiers, CCI Edits, MUE Edits and claim formats. The ultimate result of these efforts should facilitate complete and prompt payments from third party payers to ensure maximum cash flow. May be required to work overtime if needed. The Cardiovascular Surveillance Technician assists the professional caregiver in the care of patients by monitoring cardiac rhythms. They may also watch pulse oximetry when necessary. The Cardiovascular Surveillance Technician ensures that Hospital's philosophy, standards, policies and procedures are met and maintained in a professional manner. Qualifications Educations/Certifications: High School diploma or GED. Basic knowledge of Cardiac Rhythms and successful completion of EKG class required within 2 weeks of hire. BLS upon hire. Experience: Prior hospital experience is preferred.

The Respiratory Care Assistant (RCA) program is designed to allow respiratory students to enter the workforce as a Respiratory Therapy Assistants. This will allow the student to gain real working experience in our facility, under the direct supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist. While working at our facility, the RCA will gain knowledge in our policies, procedures, EMR, and will more easily transition to a licensed therapist after graduation. The RCA will be hired into the program on a PRN basis. The RCA will be required to work 12 hours during a six-week schedule. General orientation will be completed by the RCA via video. CBLS that are assigned to the RCA will be completed. Quick-start will be completed by the RCA via the booklet supplied by education. Department orientation will consist of seventy-two hours. OMH Respiratory Care department will accept four RCAs at one time, with no more than two scheduled at one time on each shift. The RCA will be assigned to assist a respiratory therapist during that shift. The RCA will not be left alone on any floor to treat patients independently. The RCA will not treat patients that fall under critically ill as defined by the North Carolina Board of Respiratory Care. At no time will the RCA replace a licensed therapist on any shift. This individual coordinates the efficient flow of routine daily activities. Coordinates the maintenance of equipment and record keeping. Supervises and participates in the sterilization processing, distribution of instrumentation, equipment and supplies to the various departments and clinics throughout the Onslow Hospital Authority. Responsibilities include maintaining adequate materials, equipment, and distribution in order to provide optimum service levels to the department and clinics. Other duties include inspecting and maintaining sterility of instrumentation and equipment, daily processing, and the maintenance of records for preparation of reports to Administrative Director of Materials Management, Finance and the IOP/Quality Assurance Coordinator. Acts as liaison between OR Manager, and SPD staff. This individual ensures that all SPD employees are cross-trained. This position ensures that all policies and procedures are followed, and the department meets all regulations imposed by regulatory agencies. Supervises and coordinates the operation of the Case Cart distribution to the Operating Room. Guided by the Physician Preference Card, distributes supplies and equipment needed for each surgical case. Monitors supply levels on hand to support this operation and reorders these supplies as needed. Qualifications Education/Certification: Bachelors degree in business or clinical specialty preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Supervisor (CSPDS) highly desirable. Experience: 5 years related experience in CS/Distribution in the health care industry.

The Patient Safety Companion will remain with a patient throughout a designated period of time for the purpose of maintaining the patient's safety (i.e., by prevention of falls, wandering or disruptions of patient care). The Food Service Worker may work anywhere on property where food is prepared or served. This person will assist in setup and serving of food from counters and steamtables. Duties will include cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work stations. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but the manager may identify other responsibilities of the position. This person participates in overall process of patient and cafeteria meal service including preparation, assembly, service, delivery and pick up. Also responsible for effectively communicating with patients, staff and guest of the hospital to ensure accuracy and timelines of patient meal trays and floor stock. Participates in the overall process of catering and special function meal service. Performs cleaning duties and including cleaning various pieces of equipment throughout the department. Uses equipment in a safe and effective manner. Assists in the orientation and training of new employees. Performs any or all duties of kitchen, tray line, patient room service program, cafeteria, proudly serving Starbucks service program and dish room as required by staffing. Assists in collection of data for improvement of organizational performance and quality control indicators as assigned. Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will be responsible for team-based treatment of persons of all ages with neurological, general medical or musculoskeletal disorders or conditions that limit physical function, activities of daily living, and mobility. Qualifications Education/Certification: Graduate of accredited program for Physical Therapist Assistants and licensure in North Carolina CPR/BLS certification must be active at start of employment (either from the American Heart Association of American Red Cross). The Maintenance Mechanic II must be experienced and competent in general building and equipment maintenance and construction including but not limited to: plumbing, painting, drywall, carpet, floor tile, preventive maintenance and repair to mechanical and electrical equipment and systems including the testing and overhaul of equipment. The personnel are required to participate in an on call program, on a rotating bases. They may serve as members of emergency teams as required. They may be required to be at the hospital during emergencies such as hurricanes. They may be assigned to committees or improvement teams. Working hours are as designated by the maintenance director. Qualifications Education/Certification: Mechanics must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years' experience in industrial or commercial maintenance. This Quality Improvement Coordinator is responsible for developing and recommending strategies and processes that results in measurable improvement in the delivery and outcomes of patient care through application of evidenced-based best practices and using current Performance Improvement methods and tools. This position works collaboratively with medical staff, leadership, medical directors, nursing, and other members of the healthcare team. The Quality Improvement Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, obtaining, submitting, analyzing, and verifying clinical information and data to support clinical quality performance measurement and improvement activities throughout the organization. The coordinator will serve as a data collector, coordinator, liaison with the hospital's QAPI data to regulatory agencies' such as but not limited The Joint Commission/CMS quality measures vender. He/she will submit that data to the vendor(s) within the timeframe(s) designated. The Lactation Specialist is responsible for the coordination of Lactation services in the hospital; provides inpatient consultation and telephone follow up; and serves as a resource to medical and nursing staff. The Respiratory Clinical Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director, Neurology and Respiratory in planning, organizing and supervising activities in the department. The Respiratory Clinical Coordinator is responsible for establishing policies and procedures for the provision of services; assist in hiring process, staff competency validation, orienting and evaluating respiratory staff. Qualifications Education/Certification: Graduate of and AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy. Must have RRT credential from NBRC and hold a valid license from the North Carolina Board of Respiratory Care. Current BLS required. STABLE, NRP, PALS AND ACLS certifications must be obtained within one year and maintained. Experience: Five years respiratory care clinical experience preferred. May consider combination of education and hospital clinical experience in Respiratory Therapy.

Responsible for phlebotomy procedures to include bleeding time test, blood cultures, obtaining blood samples from neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients; performing glucose testing at the bedside; and performing waived or moderate complexity Point of Care testing at the bedside for patients in the Emergency Department. The MA will also accompany the physician and directly observe patient encounters while accurately documenting the events and decision-making in a manner that results in appropriate medical charting. They will also complete the clerical activities necessary to assist with processing of physician's orders for tests and medications. MA are not permitted to make independent decisions or translations while capturing or entering information into the health record or EHR beyond what is directed by the provider.
