Job Summary: The Cath/EP Technology Intern will function in a learning environment provided by the Cath or EP lab team to become competent and proficient at radiological skills specific to a cardiovascular radiology specialty. Minimum Requirements: The Cath/EP Technology Intern must meet the requirements of senior student status as established by their academic institution. Additionally, the Cath/EP Technology Intern much provide proof of enrollment in an accredited radiology technology program. The Cath/EP Technology Intern must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit/dept. Full-time Description Performs a variety of laboratory tests, many of which involve numerous steps and techniques, and require use of professional judgment. Tests are performed in Blood Bank, Coagulation, Hematology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Chemistry. Professional application of the theories and techniques of clinical laboratory science (including evaluation of quality control data) are used to produce reliable test results which aid the clinician in diagnosis and treatment. Has full access to patient health information. May have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities. Shift: M-F, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, no weekends, take call every 4th weekend Requirements Medical Technologist: Must have at least sixty semester hours of college with training in a certified Medical Technology training program. The Lab Assistant I is responsible for general duties associated with the preparation of samples for clinical testing and/or transport.
