About the Internship
The Administration team is seeking an intern to support two key initiatives aimed at improving office technology management and usage. This internship offers hands-on experience in office operations, technical inventory control, and process documentation, with opportunities to contribute to meaningful improvements in how our systems and equipment are managed and used.
Key Projects:
1. Inventory
The intern will evaluate and provide ideas to evolve the system to manage the office's technical inventory, including monitors, computers, and other equipment. Responsibilities include:
Cataloging current inventory
Tracking usage and availability
Recommending replacement or recycling timelines
Creating a sustainable and accessible inventory management process
2. Process Use
The intern will create user-friendly guides and training materials to help staff effectively use office systems and equipment. This includes:
Testing and documenting how to operate audio, video, and computer systems in conference rooms
Identifying common usage issues and proposing solutions
Collaborating with team members to ensure clarity and usability of materials

Job Accountabilities/Tasks:
Notify and update customer service on vessel schedule adjustments, such as port omissions, cut-off changes or adjustments in port connections. Perform batch route update to active shipments.
Provide Booking forecasts (CBF's) to the vessel planners for all vessels by port pair. Based on vessel situation, secure additional space and/or coordinate with Sales to implement cargo cuts if required and work with Operations team to update final load lists.
Coordinate with internal teams to utilize any unused space each week on each vessel to reposition empty units to achieve best use of vessel asset.
Respond to all ad-hoc inquiries that are required by TFC covering all physical aspects of services. This would include items such as service coverage, cargo acceptability, shipment exception, cargo delay, etc.
Reconcile slot use on vessel basis and verification of financial statements with partner lines on their vessels. Enter slot cost into online system for each vessel in order for Finance to process payments for our slot use.
Report on vessel utilization performance and forecasting to Commercial Management

The Department:
Within our organization, the Flow team manages the movement of surplus empty containers to deficit locations. Leveraging cross-departmental collaboration and data analytics, our primary objective is to maximize slot utilization on vessels while maintaining cost efficiency. Other responsibilities include ensuring sufficient supply of containers for export demand, coordination with operations teams throughout the Americas and Asia, exception handling for misused or misrouted empty containers, and closely monitoring transportation costs, storage costs, and container dwell status.
Job Responsibilities:
Communicate with local operations teams and vessel slot controllers daily on deficit/surplus port locations and requirement for coastal repositioning.
Develop and implement cost effective flow strategies by studying the demand and planning moves of surplus equipment
Coordinate with local Operations to determine inter-regional equipment flow requirements.
Create inter-op zone empty plans in system to allow regions to execute the weekly reposition as planned.
Assess empty allocations assigned by vessel slot controllers and declare available equipment in accordance with equipment demand requirements provided by the Equipment Manager Center in our Hong Kong headquarters, and work to achieve the primary goal of entirely filling slots on each vessel.
As instructed by the Equipment Flow Manager, communicate any equipment on-hire requirements with the Equipment Manager Center and coordinate with local Operations.
Monitor transportation and storage costs to help drive efficient operations and prevent the idling of container assets.

Overview

Overview

Leveraging cross-departmental collaboration and data analytics, our primary objective is to maximize slot utilization on vessels while maintaining cost efficiency. Other responsibilities include ensuring sufficient supply of containers for export demand, coordination with operations teams throughout the Americas and Asia, exception handling for misused or misrouted empty containers, and closely monitoring transportation costs, storage costs, and container dwell status.
Job Responsibilities:
Communicate with local operations teams and vessel slot controllers daily on deficit/surplus port locations and requirement for coastal repositioning.
Develop and implement cost effective flow strategies by studying the demand and planning moves of surplus equipment
Coordinate with local Operations to determine inter-regional equipment flow requirements.
Create inter-op zone empty plans in system to allow regions to execute the weekly reposition as planned.
Assess empty allocations assigned by vessel slot controllers and declare available equipment in accordance with equipment demand requirements provided by the Equipment Manager Center in our Hong Kong headquarters, and work to achieve the primary goal of entirely filling slots on each vessel.
As instructed by the Equipment Flow Manager, communicate any equipment on-hire requirements with the Equipment Manager Center and coordinate with local Operations.
Monitor transportation and storage costs to help drive efficient operations and prevent the idling of container assets.
