Open Door Health company history timeline
1976: Our first name was, Open Door VD Clinic with offices on Division Street in Elgin.
1988: Doctor David Luck started care services at Open Door.
With the help of a grant from Ben and Jerry’s, a bus was purchased in 1991 to increase access to healthcare for the uninsured and underinsured in Addison County, Vermont.
1992: Open Door provides same day testing results.
1998: Open Door moves the Aurora office to a bigger location.
1999: Long-time director, Hugh Epping retires and David Roesler is named executive director.
2003: Open Door receives funding from Health Resources and Services Administration to expand medical care to five days a week.
In 2009, the ODC received a federal grant to expand our outreach to area migrant farm workers.
2013: Aurora location expands to meet the needs of the community.
In 2016, in an attempt to address the unmet need and critical gap in oral health care in our community, the Open Door Clinic launched a new dental program mirroring our clinic model.
