Coaching may take place in person at Residential Treatment Centers, virtually, or in a combination of formats based on each student's needs. You'll be trained to deliver academic coaching aligned with the program's proven tutoring model and will sign a proprietary agreement upon hire.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate academic coaching sessions across multiple sites in Houston, Harris County, and the 12 surrounding counties.
Ensure all tutoring locations are stocked with necessary materials and supplies.
Collaborate closely with academic coaches, volunteers, and program staff to drive student success.
Provide both one-on-one and group academic coaching to help students reach their goals.
Serve as a substitute academic coach when needed.
Maintain detailed records of student attendance, academic progress, and overall program outcomes.
Ensure all registration forms and assessments are accurately completed and up to date.
Prepare and submit monthly reports summarizing program activities and impact.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and current auto liability insurance.
Experience tutoring youth ages 14 and older.
Strong proficiency in core academic subjects, including higher-level math, science, and language arts.
Availability during after-school hours (Monday-Thursday); remaining hours are flexible, up to a total of 30 hours per week.
Willingness to travel regularly to multiple tutoring sites throughout Harris County and neighboring counties.
Availability for occasional meetings, trainings, and special events at the HAY Center.
Patience, adaptability, and a commitment to meeting each student where they are in their academic and personal development.
