How you will contribute
You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
What you bring to Takeda:
High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy

Position Summary

Management

Qualifications:

Qualifications

Your Job as Dispensing Nurse:
The Dispensing Nurse (LPN/LVN) provides compassionate and professional care in an outpatient opioid treatment program (OTP) setting. This role includes assessing patients, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, educating patients and families, and collaborating with the clinical team to ensure safe and effective treatment. The nurse upholds all standards of professional nursing practice and clinic policies while ensuring accurate reporting and documentation of patient care and progress.
Your Responsibilities as Dispensing Nurse:
* Work under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor, Medical Director, and Clinic Director while maintaining professional standards of care.
* Prepare and administer medication as ordered by the Medical Director or Program Physician accurately and in a timely manner.
* Document medication administration and nursing care in patient records promptly and accurately, including notes on progress and activities.
* Ensure the safekeeping and accurate inventory of all medication stock and records as required by the DEA, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.
* Maintain precise accounting of all medication received from suppliers and dispensed to patients.
* Dedicate approximately 90% of work hours to medication administration activities; the remaining time may be assigned to other duties by the Medical or Clinic Director.
* Conduct and process urine and/or blood samples, read test results, complete intake assessments, and assist in monitoring patient outcomes.
* Complete all documentation associated with these procedures accurately and in compliance with clinic standards.
* Depending on clinic needs, may be required to transport medication to other locations or work on a CTC Mobile Unit.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation for roles at Chula Vista CTC varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Chula Vista CTC provides a reasonable hourly range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California as set forth below.

Your Education, Skills and Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (LPN/LVN)
Prefer 1 year of nursing experience in behavioral health, outpatient treatment program, or addiction recovery field.
Training or experience treating patients in an outpatient treatment program, preferred.
Ability to operate, monitor, and maintain medical equipment safely and effectively.
* Skilled in drawing blood and collecting other specimens for laboratory testing.
* Proficient in EMR systems and related clinical software applications.
* Competent in patient assessment, including evaluating medical histories, symptoms, and overall condition.
* Able to monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure accurately and consistently.
* Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician in accordance with clinic protocols.
* Observe and document patient responses, side effects, and treatment outcomes to ensure safe and effective care.
Ideal Experience:
* Previous nursing experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings, such as outpatient, residential, or correctional facilities, is highly preferred but not required.
* Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including the safe handling, administration, and documentation of methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
* Experience in medication dispensing, monitoring patient dosing, and observing for adverse reactions or medication interactions.
* Understanding of nursing best practices related to substance use treatment, including trauma-informed care and harm reduction principles.
* Accurate and timely documentation of medication administration records (MARs), patient vitals, and incident reports in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
* Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., DEA, 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and Joint Commission standards) related to controlled substances and patient care.
* Proven ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, counselors, case managers, and support staff, to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
Licenses/Certifications:
* Current LPN/LVN license in the state of California.
* Current CPR certification where required by state regulation.

The Assistant Nurse Manager, NICU helps plan, coordinate, and evaluate patient care delivery for a Level III or higher neonatal intensive care unit, working closely with the Nurse Manager and medical team. This position supports implementation of best practice models, patient care delivery systems, and nursing practice standards across assigned locations, while ensuring safe, high-quality care for critically ill and premature neonates and their families.
Key responsibilities
Assist in implementing evidence-based NICU practice models, care standards, and policies, ensuring consistency across shifts and locations.
Support daily operations of the NICU, including staffing, patient assignments, resource allocation, and bed management for a 24/7 unit.
Maintain clinical expertise and provide direct patient care as needed, including high-acuity neonatal assessments, interventions, and family-centered care.
Provide clinical supervision and coaching to NICU RNs and ancillary staff; delegate tasks and duties appropriately within scope of practice.
Promote patient safety, quality, and a just culture by supporting event reviews, performance improvement initiatives, and action plans.
Support investigations and resolution of patient, family, and member concerns related to care and services in the NICU.
Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatric subspecialists, respiratory therapy, lactation, social work, and other disciplines to optimize outcomes across the continuum of care.
Oversee appropriate use, maintenance, and readiness of NICU equipment, supplies, and medications, escalating issues as needed.
Help coordinate staff education, competency validation, and onboarding of new team members in partnership with education and leadership.
Minimum requirements
Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse License - California at time of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) at hire.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - required (or obtained within defined organizational timeframe).
RNC-NIC (Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing certification) required within 6 months of hire.
Minimum 2 years of experience in patient care delivery.
Education:
Associate degree in Business, Nursing, Health Care, or related field with at least 2 years of experience in business operations or clinical healthcare; OR
Minimum 3 years of experience in business operations, clinical healthcare, or a directly related field.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a leadership role (with or without direct reports), such as charge nurse, clinical coordinator, or supervisor.
Strong interpersonal and people-management skills; demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage conflict, and support staff development.
Preferred qualifications
At least 2 years of recent NICU RN experience in a Level III or higher NICU in an acute care hospital.
Minimum 1 year of formal NICU RN leadership experience (e.g., Charge Nurse, Clinical Coordinator, Supervisor, Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager; relief charge alone not accepted).
BSN or MSN strongly preferred.
Experience working with unions from a management perspective.
Demonstrated skills in performance improvement, change management, and staff engagement within a neonatal setting.
