Ensure the adequate recording of the administration/dispensing transaction has occurred.
Ensure the treatment plan of the physician and/or medical director is followed.
Place, interpret, and document Mantoux tests for patients and teammates.
Assess patient responses to treatment and medication dosage/interactions and determine appropriateness for dosing.
Counsel patients regarding personal hygiene, abnormal lab results, HIV/AIDS testing, and all medical matters including changes in treatment.
Document Nursing progress notes on all patients and maintains medical records including individual patient records, daily medication charts, dosage records, physician orders, etc., as required
Participate in case conferences, offering professional observations.
Order medical supplies and maintain a proper inventory and record of use per regulations.
Make appointments for patients to see physicians; obtain lab workups and provide reminders to patients to ensure appointments are kept.
Discuss with physicians and team about important changes in patients or noted patterns of behavior affecting treatment.
Provide referrals for specialized care at local health centers (e.g., Planned Parenthood, prenatal clinic, HIV/AIDS testing sites, etc.) and follow-up on patients' attendance and treatment.
Assist in organizing transfers of patients to and from the program; verify medication verbally with nurses of another program.
Possess the knowledge and understanding of how to recognize and manage an opiate overdose.
Understand the clinical benefits and limitations of urine screens, toxicology, and other testing procedures.
Attend team meetings and complete all training courses timely as required.

Responsibilities:
Screen and assess each patient for co-existing medical problems to assess risk factors affecting appropriate placement for treatment.
Administer medications/treatments as ordered in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Ensure that adequate recording of the medication administration transaction has occurred.
Ensure that the treatment plan of the physician and/or medical director is being followed.
Facilitate and educate patients in a group process to include chemical dependency issues, infectious disease, medical and mental health issues.
Administer, interpret, and keep accurate documentation of Mantoux test for teammates.
Assess patient response to treatments and medications, interactions, and effectiveness.
Document and summarize individual nursing care for each patient and communicate changes, progress, and/or immediate medical care needs to the provider for follow-up consultation.
Orders medical supplies, maintains a proper inventory and record of use as per Regulations
Maintains all medical records including individual charts, daily medication charts, dosage records, progress notes, doctor's orders, etc., as required.
Makes appointments for patients to see physician; obtains lab workups and checks with patients to see that appointments are kept.
Counsel's patients regarding personal hygiene, abnormal lab results, HIV/AIDS testing, and all medical matters including changes in treatment.
Discusses with physician and team important changes in treatment or noted patterns of behavior affecting treatment.
Provides referral for specialized care at local health centers (e.g., Planned Parenthood, prenatal clinic, HIV/AIDS testing sites, etc.) and follows-up on patients' attendance and treatment.
Assists in organizing transfers of patients to and from different levels of care.
Assist in training teammates in medical conditions, responses, and patient care.
Maintain continuing education credits as required by the Board of Nursing
Attend team meetings and complete all training courses timely as required.
May assists doctor during physical examinations.
Keeps medication room clean and orderly; maintains medical equipment.
