Responsibilities
Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during, and after procedure.
Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
Additional Preferences
3pm-11pm Monday-Friday, overnight/weekend/holiday rotating call coverage required

What You'll Do
Provide compassionate pre‑operative, intra‑procedural, and post‑operative care for awake, minimally invasive cosmetic procedures.
Assist the surgeon: prepare and maintain a sterile field; anticipate needs during procedures.
Administer medications as prescribed and closely monitor for patient comfort and safety.
Educate and support patients at every step; partner seamlessly with our patient care consultants.
Monitor for potential complications and escalate appropriately.
Document accurately in the medical record while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
Manage surgical inventory: track stock and place orders with distributors.
Stay current on cosmetic nursing best practices, OSHA standards, and emerging techniques.
Contribute to clinic initiatives as assigned by the Practice Manager and Medical Director.
What You Bring
Current, unrestricted Illinois nursing license (RN or LPN considered).
2+ years of surgical nursing experience; cosmetic or plastic surgery preferred but not required.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and patient‑education skills.
Uncompromising professionalism, ethics, and respect for confidentiality.
