The RN Clinical Management Specialist is a qualified professional responsible for collaboration with Home Health and Hospice leadership in planning, coordinating, and delivering quality services to the client. This is a regional resource assigned as needed for interim clinical leadership, training, and/or clinical support.
This position is a traveling role that will require in office training and clinical support in Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Omaha, Council Bluffs, Sioux City, Sioux Falls, and Rochester MN branches.
Essential Job Functions
Monitors and assesses company electronic medical records (EMR) workflows and assists as needed or assigned
Provides support with the intake process and admission decisions

Serve as interim Clinical Manager when position is vacant

Registered Nurse with an active and unencumbered license in the state of residence
Expertise and experience with the Homecare Homebase (HCHB) EMR system

Valid and acceptable driver's license with proof of automobile insurance coverage

How you will contribute
You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

Nurse Corps Officers may serve at any one of more than 250 Navy and medical facilities around the globe, from Hawaii to Japan, Germany to Guam and Washington, D.C., to Washington state. As a Navy Nurse, you could work at one of the highly acclaimed National Naval Medical Centers in Bethesda, MD, Portsmouth, VA or San Diego, CA. Or you could provide medical support aboard one of two dedicated hospital shipsthe USNS Comfort and USNS Mercy. Additional opportunities are available on surface ships, with aircraft squadrons or even with the Fleet Marine Force.

How you will contribute
You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
You will evaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility as outlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

Job Description
The Registered Nurse assists in the supervision and administration of the quality of nursing care for the facility. Fill out and complete transfer forms in accordance with established procedures.
Transcribe physician's orders to resident charts, cardex, medication cards, treatment/care plans, as required.
Ensure that appropriate documentation concerning unauthorized discharges is entered into he resident's record in accordance with established procedures.
Sign and date all entries made in the resident's medical record.
Perform routine charting duties as required an in accordance with established charging and documentation policies and procedures.
Ensure that narcotic records are accurate for your shift.
Drug administration
Give correct medication to the right resident, according to the amount, time, and route of administration as ordered by the physician. Ensure that prescribed medication for one resident is not administered to another. Verify the identity of the resident before administering the medication/treatment.
Dispose of drugs and narcotics as required, and in accordance with established procedures.
Notify the attending physician of automatic stop orders prior to the last dosage being administered.
Review medication cards for completeness of information, accuracy in the transcription of the physician's order, and adherence to stop order policies.
Notify the Nurse Manager of all drug and narcotic discrepancies noted on your shift.
Ensure that an adequate supply of floor, stock medications, emergency medications, supplies and equipment is on hand to meet the nursing needs of the residents. Report needs to the Unit Secretary. Requisition prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary.
Nursing care
Carry out restorative and rehabilitative programs, to include self-help and care.
Administer professional services including, but not limited to: catheterization, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, taking blood, giving massages and range of motion exercises, care for the dead/dying, etc., as required.
Obtain sputum, urine and other specimens for lab tests as ordered.
Take and record TPRs, blood pressures, etc., as necessary.
Monitor seriously ill residents.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or designee.
Resident Rights
Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information.
Treat all residents fairly, and with kindness, dignity, and respect.
Provide nursing care in privacy and knock before entering the resident's room.
Be familiar with resident rights and responsibilities.
Assure complaints and grievances made by the residents are reported either in writing, or orally, using the facility procedure.
Report all allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property, using facility procedure.
Notify the Charge Nurse of any change in a resident's condition.
Qualifications
The Registered Nurse must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and must possess and be responsible for all actions necessary to maintain a current license with the Iowa State Board of Nursing. Advanced preparation in geriatrics preferred.

He/She is responsible to the Nurse Manager and is directly supervised by the RN in the operatingrooms to which he/she is assigned.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates and practices aseptic techniques.
Adheres to standards and appropriate aseptic techniques, including:
preoperative hand scrub
gowning and gloving
instrumentation and supply set up
Sets up room for surgical procedures and identifies instrumentation and supplies
Sets up room quickly and correctly, with minimal supervision
Pulls correct instruments and supplies
When scrubbed, sets up back table and Mayo stand according to facility's procedures.
Demonstrates ability to concentrate and quickly respond appropriately to directions given by circulating RN or physician(s).
A circulating nurse, assists the scrubbed team with additional staff, supplies, procedures, and other services.
Participates in all instrument, sponge counts, and other counts as designated by the facility's policies and procedures; to maintain a safe patient care environment.
Maintains and updates surgeon's procedure preference cards as changes occur.
Maintains supplies in assigned operatingroom.
Fosters a cooperative effort in meeting the goals of nursing and sharing the workload.
Communicates a positive and caring attitude toward the area, peers, staff, patients, and other contacts; demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in meeting the needs of client facilities, patients, and staff.
Seeks guidance, direction, and assistance when needed.

After accepting a facility assignment, arrives at the facility before the schedules shift starts to sign in at the nursing office and report to the unit on time for orientation and/or report.
Work assignments are completed during the assigned shift, unless overtime is approved by the Area or Facility Supervisor
Dress/attire worn to the hospital is clean and professional. Wears and uses designated surgical attire appropriately.
Serves as a role model through the support of other facility and Amergis co-workers, adheres to specific facility/unit standards.
Minimum Requirements:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state in which he/she practices
Documentation and confirmation of one year of operatingroom clinical experience in an acute care hospital within the last three years preferred
Current BLS card.
Full command of the English language, both verbal and written.
Physical dexterity and perceptive acuity (e.g., visual, hearing) to satisfactorily perform all required duties
Current Health Certificate (if applicable)
Current PPD or Chest X-Ray

Job Description
The Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse has an overall responsibility for resident care in the facility. All of the following duties are essential unless otherwise noted:
Must report to work on schedule. Dependability, regular attendance and punctuality are essential job requirements.
Evaluate resident needs, conditions, and care, and assist in developing nursing care plans for individual residents, including rehabilitative and restorative activities and instruction in self-help.
Communicate with family members regarding the condition and progress of the resident, including in-person discussion and answering of telephone inquiries.
Assist the physicians in rounds when needed, reviewing physicians' orders, ordering medications, maintaining residents' charts, and transcribing physicians' orders.
Assist Nurse Managers with orientation and training programs for new employees in the department, as required.
Assist the Director of Nursing/Nurse Managers with implementation of guidelines and procedures for the department.
Make daily rounds to evaluate emotional and physical needs of residents during the tour of duty.
Notify the physician and family of incidents or changes in the condition of a resident.
Participate in all in-service meetings and CEU's as required.

Supervise Nursing Assistants, Nourishment Aides, and Aide Helpers.

Receive telephone orders from physicians and record on the Physician's Order Form.

Fill out and complete accident/incident reports. Submit to the Safety Manager. Chart all reports of accidents/ incidents involving residents.
Record new/changed diet orders. Forward information to the Dietary Department.
Report all discrepancies noted concerning physician's orders, diet change, charting error, etc. to the Charge Nurse.
Fill out and complete transfer forms in accordance with established procedures.
Transcribe physician's orders to resident charts, cardex, medication cards, treatment/care plans, as required.
Ensure that appropriate documentation concerning unauthorized discharges is entered into he resident's record in accordance with established procedures.
Sign and date all entries made in the resident's medical record.
Perform routine charting duties as required an in accordance with established charging and documentation policies and procedures.
Ensure that narcotic records are accurate for your shift.
Drug administration
Give correct medication to the right resident, according to the amount, time, and route of administration as ordered by the physician. Ensure that prescribed medication for one resident is not administered to another. Verify the identity of the resident before administering the medication/treatment.
Dispose of drugs and narcotics as required, and in accordance with established procedures.
Notify the attending physician of automatic stop orders prior to the last dosage being administered.
Review medication cards for completeness of information, accuracy in the transcription of the physician's order, and adherence to stop order policies.
Notify the Nurse Manager of all drug and narcotic discrepancies noted on your shift.
Ensure that an adequate supply of floor, stock medications, emergency medications, supplies and equipment is on hand to meet the nursing needs of the residents. Report needs to the Unit Secretary. Requisition prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary.
Nursing care
Carry out restorative and rehabilitative programs, to include self-help and care.
Administer professional services including, but not limited to: catheterization, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, taking blood, giving massages and range of motion exercises, care for the dead/dying, etc., as required.
Obtain sputum, urine and other specimens for lab tests as ordered.
Take and record TPRs, blood pressures, etc., as necessary.
Monitor seriously ill residents.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or designee.
Resident Rights
Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information.
Treat all residents fairly, and with kindness, dignity, and respect.
Provide nursing care in privacy and knock before entering the resident's room.
Be familiar with resident rights and responsibilities.
Assure complaints and grievances made by the residents are reported either in writing, or orally, using the facility procedure.
Report all allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property, using facility procedure.
Notify the Charge Nurse of any change in a resident's condition.
Qualifications
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and must possess and be responsible for all actions necessary to maintain a current license with the Iowa State Board of Nursing.
