The Sr. Clinical Coding Nurse Consultant will drive consistent, efficient processes and share best practices in a collaborative effort with Providers and Market Team, designed to facilitate achievement of goals set for HCC Ratio, HCC Covered Ratio, and HCC Percent Covered. The Sr. Clinical Coding Nurse Consultant will drive Risk Adjustment improvement initiatives, develop recommendations for Risk Adjustment remediation plans and create tools and databases to capture relevant data for assigned markets to achieve corporate and market specific Risk Adjustment goals and initiatives. This position will work collaboratively with each regional/market team and their leadership in a matrix relationship. This position will provide direction and guidance to Medical Coding Analysts, as well as cross functional team members within their respective Markets pertaining to Risk Adjustment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and implement market business plans to motivate providers to engage in improving Risk Adjustment metrics
Provide analytical interpretation of Risk Adjustment reporting including, Executive Summaries, HCC Ratio, Disagree and Resolution rates, and FaxBack reporting to plan and provider groups
Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Risk Adjustment related activities within their assigned market(s) working within a matrix relationship which includes DataRAP operations and Regional/Market operations
Assist in developing of training and analytical materials for Risk Adjustment
Oversee DataRAP training and education delivery for Mega Groups via Provider education sessions and Physician Business Meetings / JOCs
Lead Weekly, Monthly, Bi-monthly, Quarterly, and/or Annual Business Review meetings related to Risk Adjustment activities which summarize provider group performance and market performance as requested by or required by Market leadership
Analyze and evaluate provider group structure and characteristics, provider group/provider office operations and personnel to identify the most effective approaches and strategies related to Risk Adjustment
Analyze Provider and Group performance regarding Risk Adjustment and Focus on Care (FOC) to determine areas of focus or improvement opportunities
Develop solution-based, user friendly initiatives to support practice success
Oversee market specific chart retrieval and review of PCP, Hospital, and Specialist records
Work with DataRAP Senior Leadership on identified special projects

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Associate's degree or Nursing Diploma from accredited nursing school with 2+ years of additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree) and current RN license in good standing
CPC certification or proof that certification has been obtained within 9 months from date of hire from the American Academy of Professional Coders
5+ years of associated nursing experience within health care industry
1+ years of familiarization with ICD10 codes
Professional experience persuading changes in behavior
Solid knowledge of the Medicare market, products and competitors
Knowledge base of clinical standards of care and preventative health measures
Proven ability and willingness to travel (locally and non-locally) as determined by business needs

Experience in managed care working with network and provider relations

Knowledge of CMS HCC Model and Guidelines along with ICD 10 Guidelines

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Seeking a Nurse Manager of Surgery for Methodist Hospital - Northeast who is responsible to the Director, Vice President and/or the Chief Nursing Officer for facilitating, coordinating and delegating the delivery of patient care to a defined group of patients during their entire hospitalization period. S/he is responsible 24 hours a day for the staffing and management of patient care in each of his/her units, for promoting the practice of professional nursing in a specified patient care area, and for the acquisition, development, and utilization of resources (human and material) needed to fulfill those responsibilities. S/he works cooperatively with administrators, physicians, staff, other managers and all customers of the Methodist Healthcare System to provide services, which consistently meet and exceed the expectations of their customers. This is accomplished by assessing and prioritizing opportunities to improve, plan and implement effective changes and evaluate outcomes of process improvement activities. What You Will Do In Your Role:
Builds and maintains a high functioning team. Provides leadership and direction for staffing their unit(s) in accordance with the organizational goals and objectives. Identifies modifications in staffing based on patient acuity and census.
Manages personnel including interviewing, work allocation, orientation and training, staff development, problem resolution, evaluating performance, making recommendations for personnel actions, and motivation of employees to achieve peak performance. Is responsible for meeting unit productivity targets.
Plans, organizes, facilitates and directs patient care delivered on the unit on a 24 hour basis in accordance with recognized and accepted internal (e.g. unit, department, and hospital) and external (e.g. TJC, Medicare, OSHA) standards.
Develops and oversees the departmental scope of services and care.
Develops and implements policies and procedures which relate to the particular nursing specialty and integrates standards of care into unit operations/collaborative care paths that support the provision of services.
Directs processes to assess, improve and maintain the quality of patient care according to the hospital plan for quality improvement.
What qualifications you will need:
Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree nursing program.
Three years clinical acute care RN experience.
One year management experience.

Job Requirements:
Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associates' degree (A.S.) is required. Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred.
Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required
Current hands on training in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services.
Certification in Occupational Health Nursing, Certification in Emergency Nursing, or Certificate in Case Management preferred.
Preferred Experience:
At least three years experience as a Registered Nurse in an emergency room, occupational health clinic or other ambulatory care clinic.

The Clinical Admin Nurse Consultant is responsible for clinical oversight, training, and compliance for wound ostomy therapy (for RNs LVNs/LPNs) in all markets. This position will assist with the integration of clinical practice guidelines to ensure policy and procedures are being followed based on the practice standards of RNs LVNs/LPNs as they relate to clinic compliance and competencies.
This position will be responsible for compliance related training, impacting quality improvement efforts, and championing activities impacting achievement of clinical and healthcare outcomes. Patient Chart Reading and Interpretation
Describes experiences in reading and interpreting patient charts for patients on unit and under own care
Reviews patients' charts for completion and accuracy; identifies and alerts to mistakes or omissions
Recognizes unexpected readings and alerts nursing or medical staff
Relates examples of misreadings or misinterpretations and lessons learned
Reviews, discusses and validates own interpretation with others
Patient Safety
Shares experiences with ensuring safety for one or more patient groups or settings
Explains key features of safety guidelines and procedures for those groups and settings
Listens and responds to safety inquiries from patients and family members
Recognizes and addresses physiological and psychological signs of problems
Describes considerations for patients who can cause to harm to self, versus harm to others

Job Requirements:
Education/Skills
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and initial on-boarding requirements are validated through successful completion of the designated organizational entry competency validation and a Perinatal Department-specific competency validation.
Completion of all annual competency verification requirements.
Experience
2 years of clinical patient care experience in a relevant setting.
Perinatal RN Residency, or recently practicing in a Perinatal Setting is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
BLS required
RN License in state of employment or compact
Current certification from NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) or one of the following AWHONN courses: Intermediate FHM, Intermediate FHM Instructor, Advanced FHM Instructor, or Instructor Trainer at the time of hire for experienced nurses. If previously uncertified, certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire as they cannot practice independently without it. For new graduates and experienced nurses new to the specialty, certification must be obtained within 4 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
Current STABLE (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) certification from one of the following courses: Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor at the time of hire for experienced nurses. If previously uncertified, certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire as they cannot practice independently without it. For new graduates and experienced nurses new to the specialty, certification must be obtained within 4 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire for experienced nurses; within 90 days of hire for new graduates then required to maintain certification thereafter.
Current NRP certification at time of hire for experienced nurses; within 60 days for new graduates and experienced nurses new to the specialty then required to maintain certification thereafter.
