Responsibilities
Provide perioperative nursing care by circulating during surgical procedures to ensure patient safety, efficient workflow, and proper communication among the surgical team.
Conduct pre-operative assessments, verify documentation, and confirm patient identity, consent, and procedural information per clinical protocols.
Act as the patient advocate throughout the surgical process, monitoring comfort, safety, and overall experience.
Assist with maintaining a sterile and organized operating room environment and adhere to all infection-control and safety standards.
Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical techs to ensure equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and functioning properly.
Document all perioperative activities, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes, using electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.

Job Responsibilities
• The nurse collaborates with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of safe, timely and appropriate quality patient care.
• This includes providing physical assessments, nursing interventions, pain management, medication administrations, specimen collection, meeting nutritional needs, and teaching and discharge needs of the patients assigned.
• Utilizes the nursing process based on evidence-based best practices to meet patient care needs.
• Evaluates and adjusts the nursing care process as necessary with consultation as needed and confers with the appropriate resource personnel when making ethical/legal/medical dilemma decisions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Additionally, the Clinical Nurse II meets the requirements outlined in the Clinical Ladder program respective to his/her department.
• The Clinical Nurse III demonstrates a commitment to hospital involvement and professional growth by participating in committees, attending related meetings, and presenting education projects and/or supplemental activities.
Required Skills & Experience:
• One (1) year recent Operating Room (OR) experience in an acute care hospital.
OR
• Recent completion of the Hoag Perioperative Training Program.
Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Required Certifications & Licensure
• Registered Nurse in the State of California - Current and in good standing.
• Current BLS certification prior to clinical rotation.
• CVOR: ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Certifications & Licensure: Operating Room (OR): CNOR.

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
