Job Requirements
Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocation Nurse, Paramedic, Advanced EMT, or EMT Basic. Current CPR certification required.

-Work is performed both standing and sitting for up to 2 to 4 hours per day each.
-The position does require bending and twisting of neck up from 1 to 2 hours per day.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Surgical Technician is responsible for setting up surgical procedures, scrubbing on cases and performing appropriate functions to facilitate the flow of surgical patients. POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, the E D Tech performs clerical and clinical assistive tasks in the delivery of patient care. The E D Tech must be proficient in secretarial duties, as well as meet qualifications required for a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Responsible for participating in the care of patients presenting to the Emergency Department by coordinating all clerical functions. Maintains safe work environment and ensures supplies are available. Supports the health care providers to provide cost-effective, quality care to the population served in the ED. Assists with orienting new employees and students as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School graduate or GED required.
2. Current Listing as a Certified Nursing Assistant with the state of North Carolina Division of Facility Services with no substantiated findings of abuse, neglect or misappropriation of property in a facility that provides Nursing Care.
3. Current BLS maintained.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds.
2. Ability to see colors, see at least 1 mm squares.
3. Ability to hear within normal range.
4. Ability to reach overhead.
5. Ability to remain calm, continue to function effectively and develop priorities during stressful situations.
6. Ability to communicate effectively using written and verbal media.
