Helps prepare operatingroom by setting up surgical instruments; ensuring equipment works properly, labels sterile solutions. Helps gather supplies and equipment in the room. Maintains record on field of medication used intra-operatively, specimens retrieved, tissue implanted, implants, liquids or chemicals on field. Passes instruments and other sterile supplies to surgical assistants. May hold retractors, cut suture, help count sponges, needles or blades if applicable. Prepares, cares for and dispose specimens taken for laboratory analysis. Ability to operate sterilizer, lights, suction, and other operatingroom equipment/ diagnostic equipment. Wound Care Support & Patient Assistance:

/ Three 12 hour shifts/3p-3a/ overtime available
A PPT AEMT responds to dispatched medical and/or injured patients transport requests. Transporting patients to a pre-designated hospital, clinic, home, nursing home or other medical facility. PPT AEMTs provide necessary medical care at the sending facility when requested, and during transportation to the receiving facility. All medical care is provided under the EMT's scope of practice in their licensed state. AEMTs are also monitored and under the medical direction of a PPT Medical Director in their licensed state/states.
Minimum Requirements
Must hold a current and in good standing, AEMT license/licenses for the state/states they will be working in. Must provide proof of credentials, credentials will be verified.
Hold a current BLS/CPR card.
Hold a current, valid state issued drivers license with less than 5 points and no significant moving violations within the last three years. For non-drivers- a current state issued ID.
Must hold a current EVOC certification- can be obtained in house.

Safely move patient to the stretcher and secure with all straps.
Complete a thorough patient assessment, obtain 2 sets of vitals at minimum. Patient vitals must be reassessed every 15-30 minutes depending on patients' current status, length of transport etc.
Must be able to give a good patient hand off report.
Complete an accurate EPCR, obtain all appropriate signatures and attach all appropriate paperwork to the EPCR. EPCRs must be completed by the end of each shift.
All patient care must be delivered appropriately and within your scope of practice or per Medical Control Direction.

Job Knowledge/ Responsibilities - Performs their duties in an ethical and legal manner within the scope of their certification. Ability to scrub all types of cases performed at the company. Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon and has equipment, medical gases and supplies readily available for all procedures. Has the ability to adhere to work schedule, be organized, manage time effectively and in a cost effective manner. Participates in continuing education/in-service training as needed, staff meetings, and Q.A.P.I. program. Actively participates in the development of a healthy work environment. Assists in orientation of new staff when needed.
Knowledge of central and sterile supply department. Opens all sterile packs according to sterile technique and prepares instruments as needed. Helps prepare operatingroom by setting up surgical instruments; ensuring equipment works properly, labels sterile solutions. Helps gather supplies and equipment in the room. Maintains record on field of medication used intra-operatively, specimens retrieved, tissue implanted, implants, liquids or chemicals on field. Passes instruments and other sterile supplies to surgical assistants. May hold retractors, cut suture, help count sponges, needles or blades if applicable. Prepares, cares for and dispose specimens taken for laboratory analysis. Ability to operate sterilizer, lights, suction, and other operatingroom equipment/ diagnostic equipment. Assists in patient transfer to PACU, if needed. Helps clean and restock operatingroom. Assists with any technical function under supervision of system to carry out a safe operation. Ability to prep, drape and position the patient for surgery. Prepares for case according to surgeon's preference card. Gathers supplies needed and anticipates needs for case. Needs manual dexterity to handle instruments. Must be emotionally conscientious, orderly, and emotionally stable to handle the OR environment.
Attendance - Arrives to work area on time and has minimal absences.
EDUCATION/ REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or GED
Two (2) years of hospital main operatingroom experience preferred
Certification as a Surgical Technician preferred
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
Must be able to provide proof of their identity and their right to work in the United States
LANGUAGE SKILLS/COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Amkai Charts Database software and Microsoft Word

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role requires a variety of physical activities to effectively perform essential job functions. The position involves frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%), and standing (50%), with regular bending, stooping, and reaching (25-50%). Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs. Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands are essential, as the role demands constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity-including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus-is required 100% of the time. Occasional driving or climbing may also be necessary.

Qualifications

Surgical Techs without proper certification must acquire certification within one year of hire date
Current BLS certification
