Performs experienced protective service work controlling, extinguishing, and preventing fires and performing Basic Life Support at emergency scenes. ***All applicants must not have been users of tobacco products for at least one (1) year immediately preceding their application for employment as a firefighter with Brevard County Fire Rescue, and shall be required, as an absolute condition of continued employment, to refrain from smoking cigarettes, cigars, pipes, or use of any type of tobacco products of any kind (including smoking cessation products), at all times, whether on or off duty.*** In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
