Must successfully complete state certified Pump Operator's Course within one year. EMT certification within 18 months. Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: (A) Working knowledge of driver safety; working knowledge of first aid; (B) Ability to learn the operation of fire suppression and other emergency equipment; Ability to learn to apply standard firefighting, emergency aid, hazardous materials, and fire prevention techniques; Ability to perform strenuous or peak physical effort during emergency, training or station maintenance activities for prolonged periods of time under conditions of extreme heights, intense heat, cold or smoke; Ability to act effectively in emergency and stressful situations; Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the general public; Ability to meet the special requirements listed below. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: (A) Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire a valid Florida Class D driver's license. Summary: Providing both emergency and non-emergency transport of patients. MedFleet EMT's will collaborate with Municipal, County, and private Fire / rescue services as well as other medical staff, patients and family members. EMT's will take great care in the maintenance and operation of company vehicles, and shall thoroughly and accurately complete and submit all required documentation. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Prompt and regular attendance at work. Provide quality patient care utilizing thorough knowledge of protocols Assess and treat with appropriate techniques (resources and equipment), any medical situation while maintaining the highest standard of patient care and professionalism according to current company standards. Must maintain neat and professional appearance at all times in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Current BLS Certification Must be at least 18 years of age Physical Requirements The EMT is required to sit, stand, walk, climb or balance, step, stoop, kneel; and talk or hear. The EMT is required to pull, lift, grasp, reach, use hands, finger movement, and repetitive motions. Must frequently lift and/or carry a minimum of 140 pounds up to 200 pounds.
