Surgical Technician: OperatingRoom at Providence Newberg Medical Center is 1.0 FTE full time position working during weekdays and weekends on a day shift. The Surgical Technician role is a non-licensed health care employee who performs the surgical scrub role and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). These duties may include reviewing preference lists and picking the supplies and instruments for a procedure; performing a surgical scrub and preparing the back table with the appropriate sterile instrumentation and supplies; providing support intra-operatively by anticipating the surgeon's needs and passing him/her the appropriate instrumentation and supplies when needed during the case; completing the cycle by taking instruments and equipment to the decontamination area at the end of the procedure and putting away left over supplies and equipment.

Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with active licensure and Epic charting experience for a day shift operatingroom position.
Responsibilities
Work in the hospital OperatingRoom setting
Day shift position with 4x10 hour shifts and variable start times (07:00, 09:00, 11:00)
Includes weekday scheduled shifts and night call shifts
Weekend scheduled and call shifts required, typically 5-6 call or weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Float to a nearby sister hospital may be required
Utilizes Epic EMR system
First time travelers are welcome to apply
Strict rules regarding time off requests; changes after submission are not allowed
Return staff must have a 6-month gap from previous employment as a traveler
Local candidates accepted at the same rates
Weekend and on-call coverage are regular expectations for this role
Requirements
Active OR RN license required; no pending licenses accepted
Minimum of 2 years OR nursing experience required
Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
EPIC charting experience required
COVID-19 vaccination required; no exemptions permitted
