Operating room technician job in Memphis, TN
Functions under the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) guidelines for performance. Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Assists surgical team during operation/procedure by arranging, inventorying and maintaining sterile set up for operation, and passes items as needed. Assists in preparation of surgical suite, moving patients, and in cleaning. Provides aid in exposure, homeostasis, and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out safe operation with optimal results for the patient within AST standards. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Operating Room Manager at Middle Tennessee Ambulatory Surgery Center
The OR Manager oversees all departmental functions to align with the hospital's mission and goals. This role implements cost-effective systems, considering business trends, resources, and patient needs. The manager builds strong relationships with patients, physicians, staff, and vendors, ensuring high-quality care and continuous improvement.
Key duties include managing surgery, anesthesia, and sterile processing services, using customer satisfaction and employee feedback to drive improvements. The OR Manager also collaborates with Senior Management to meet facility goals and may assist as an RN Circulator and Scrub Tech when needed.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED
Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing.
Baccalaureate degree preferred.
3-5 years' experience in operative setting preferred.
Current TN RN License
Current BLS certification
CNOR preferred

Job Title: Surgical Technologist Job Type: [Full-Time/Part-Time] Department: Operating Room / Surgical Services Reports To: OR Nurse Manager / Surgical Services Supervisor
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. The Surgical Technologist will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and registered nurses to ensure a safe, sterile, and well-organized environment during surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and sterile techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare operating rooms for surgery by setting up sterile instruments, drapes, and supplies.
Ensure all necessary equipment is available and functioning properly before the procedure begins.
Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies, holding retractors, and helping with dressings.
Maintain a sterile field and ensure adherence to aseptic techniques at all times.
Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery.
Handle specimens for laboratory analysis following established protocols.
Clean and restock operating rooms post-surgery.
Collaborate effectively with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program required.
Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Minimum 1 years of experience in a surgical or hospital setting preferred (but will accept new graduates)
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
May involve standing for long periods and exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during surgical procedures.
Rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call duty may be required.
