What You Will Be Doing:
You will lead Helion's Fuel Cycle Operations team, overseeing end-to-end fuel delivery, recovery, purification, and analytics operations that directly support Polaris, Helion's 7th fusion prototype. You Will:

* Drive pilot-scale R&D programs to test, evaluate, and scale fuel cycle systems for Orion - defining testing strategies, guiding campaign execution, and translating results into design improvements and risk reduction for full-scale systems

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated UG Operations Supervisor to oversee and support our in-house underground drilling crews. This role plays a critical part in ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency across all UG operations in the region. The position requires extensive travel-at least 80% of the time-within the region where the individual is assigned. A company vehicle and travel expenses will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Oversight: Supervise and inspect underground drilling operations to ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and project specifications;
Training & Onboarding: Lead on-site training sessions for new and existing IH crews, focusing on best practices, proper equipment use, and safety procedures;
Safety Compliance: Enforce company safety standards and conduct routine jobsite audits and toolbox talks;
Quality Control: Review bore logs, restoration practices, potholing, and fiber/copper path integrity to ensure all work meets client and internal expectations;
Problem-Solving: Act as first point of contact for field-level issues or delays, helping coordinate with operations and project management teams;
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, crew performance, and any field training activities. Provide reports to regional and department leads;
Communication: Collaborate with Regional Directors, Foremen, and Project Managers to align on goals, expectations, and crew performance.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
5+ years of hands-on experience in underground drilling operations;
Strong understanding of HDD, potholing, utility locates, and safety protocols;
Prior experience training or mentoring UG crews preferred;
Ability to read construction prints and jobsite plans;
Excellent communication and leadership skills;
Willingness to travel regularly across multiple states;
Certifications in OSHA 10/30, competent person training, or NCCER are a plus;
Valid driver's license (CDL a plus).

BE THE GUIDE
Systems Management and Order Placement:
Issues POs directly to vendors and communicates back to the Demand Planning team for any updates.
Works directly with vendors to manage final delivery confirmation and negotiate final costs based on PO volume.
Works with vendors on any PO changes/adjustments as needed based on sales orders or inventory needs.
Supports finance with invoice information related to bulk production purchase orders.
Works directly with vendors to validate production lead times and booking dates.

Production Tracking and Approvals:
Creates, manages, and tracks Production WIP reports to manage pre-production approvals and support vendors in shipping all products on time.
Collaborates with internal cross-functional partners on Production WIP to ensure all work is finalized on time to support on-time shipment.
Oversees tracking and communication of delivery delays to internal cross-functional partners.
Collaborates with the QC team on scheduling, tracking, and gathering all QC inspection reports.
Partners with the QC team on any potential production issues by recommending solutions, clarifying expectations, working with tech design/product development counterparts, or creating a corrective action plan with vendors.
Sets and communicates expectations by style of necessary garment testing requirements.
Reviews, tracks, and confirms all testing reports and requirements have been met by vendors before the start of bulk production.
Confirms final tech packs are complete before sending to vendors, including proofing for accuracy.
Generates the final tech pack to send to vendors, manages all communication, and fields questions to ensure vendors have full clarity on final style details.
Tracks and comments on all garment bulk approvals, including fabric, trim, garment wash, shade lots, and drum approvals.
Creates and maintains tracking charts to request, track, and receive Approval, Pre-Production, TOP, and Marketing samples.
Approves bulk price tickets, UPC codes, labels, hangtags, poly bags, and cartons.
Vendor Management:
Communicates daily directly with vendors on all bulk production orders.
Supports onboarding of new vendors.
Participates in weekly conference calls directly with vendors to discuss outstanding topics, track production, and problem-solve issues as needed.
Collaborates with the Product Development & Sourcing team on vendor assessments and seasonal capacity planning.
Acts as a liaison between garment vendors and material suppliers for bulk production issues or concerns.
Flexible for other duties as needed to help support the overall business.

Security Officers report to the Operations Supervisor as their initial/primary contact for scheduling. Essential Functions:
• Prepare work schedules for Security Officers at least two weeks in advance.
• Monitor employees in timekeeping system throughout the day and call employees on missed check-ins/outs immediately.
• Lock up employee shifts weekly; call employee and verify any discrepancies in schedule daily.
• Communicate recruitment needs to Operations Manager and recruitment team.
• Administer disciplinary action to include verbal and written warnings. Assist with terminations.
• Document, follow-up on client complaints with Operations Manager, and provide recommendations.
• Process payroll and billing lockups.
• Approve time off for Security Officers.
• Maintain regular communication with Security Officers. Resolve issues regarding pay, systems use, form retrieval, and schedules.
• Effectively manage overtime and adhere to guidance regarding timekeeping and L&I rules.
• Plan for cross-site training when appropriate; coordinate a succession plan with Operations Manager for training intensive sites.
• Ensure hours are categorized and coded correctly (training, unbillable, USL&H, prevailing wage, etc.).
• Call guards who have a schedule change within 24 hours for confirmation.
• Provide Security Officers with Post Orders when assigning them to a new site. Periodically check to make sure Post Orders are accurate and support Operations Manager by updating when obligations change.
• Maintain accurate employee notes in timekeeping system according to company guidance.
• Participate in the planning needs for large customer contracts with Operations Manager and team.
• Respond to alarms, lockouts, and assist with lockups as needed.
• Perform the duties of a Field Supervisor as needed and for shift coverage.
• Provide interviewing and hiring assistance as needed; Serve as backup for recruitment as a Certified Trainer.
• Provide other Security Officer support as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 2 years experience of administrative/office management. At least 2 years previous professional customer service experience. Computer and smartphone savvy. Intermediate skill level with MS Office Suite required. Ability to become an authorized driver. Ability to speak, read, and write effectively in English. Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Authorized Driver Requirements:
• Must be over the age of 23 to become an authorized driver
• Must have had a drivers license for the past 3 years
• Driving record must meet the company requirements
Education:
HS Diploma/GED Equivalency required. Additional education preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

ROLE OVERVIEWThe Field Staff Operations Manager oversees the operational needs and tools for the Field Staff and works to create systems and protocols for managing our expedition operations. This position directly manages the Expedition Equipment Specialist and works in conjunction with this person and the Expedition Development (Product) team to innovate and constantly improve our operations. The Field Staff Operations Manager will spend 70 - 100 days per year traveling to ships, training staff, and mentoring Expedition Leaders, while occasionally filling in as Expedition Leader. Oversee need for and use of new equipment (i.e. cross-country skis, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks)
Develop and refine protocols as needed for activities like cross-country skiing, bear safety, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), zodiac driving, and rifle training (Arctic only).
Develop and implement operations-based training for Field Staff.
Work with Marine Operations and Compliance to disseminate guidelines and protocols to the fleet.
Help create safety videos for ship operations.
Assist Field Staff Coordinators to understand and disseminate information about destination requirements and training.
Act as Field Staff Department liaison for all vessels for shipyard.
Manage Expedition Equipment Specialist to ensure that all shipboard equipment is properly maintained and inventoried, and equipment is ordered efficiently.
Work with Expedition Development to identify innovative tools for exploration.
Work with IT to ensure all staff computers and cell phones are updated, functioning, and stored properly onboard.
ADMINISTRATIVE
Work with Field Staff Logistics Manager and Field Staff Manager on all Field Staff Handbook updates and changes.
Communicate with shoreside teams on staff-related concerns (voyage documentation expectations to staff, marketing questions, information boards etc.).
Review weekly digital comment cards, and adjusts expedition operations appropriately.
Regularly hosts debriefs with expedition leaders and provides feedback to field staff.
Act as liaison and a Lindblad staff representative for IAATO and AECO; communicate all IAATO and AECO updates to the department, including Expedition Leaders and staff.
Frequently visit the ships to provide mentorship and/or training for Expedition Leaders and other Field Staff and build report with Ship's officers and crew.
May fill in as Expedition Leader on 1 - 2 trips per year.

Scope of Responsibilities:
Leadership, Management, and Accountability
Lead and support a small team of production assemblers, assigning daily tasks and monitoring performance.
Guide team members and provide coaching and on-the-job training.
Perform assembly, troubleshooting, and basic equipment maintenance as a working technician.
Monitor team adherence to safety protocols and address process issues and safety concerns quickly.
