This role is responsible for leading the delivery team in compliance with DOT regulations, HACCP guidelines, and all safety protocols. The ideal candidate will ensure the accurate, timely, and cost-effective distribution of products to customer stores while maintaining high-quality service standards. What You'll Do (Responsibilities) Delivery Management: Lead the delivery team to consistently meet On-Time standards and achieve key performance indicator (KPI) goals. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to HACCP, FESMA, and Best Practices standards, maintaining compliance during customer audits. Training and Development: Oversee the training and coaching of Leads and Drivers, including new driver field training, monthly safety sessions, quarterly online safety training, equipment handling, and customer service skills. Safety Leadership: Enforce all E.A. Sween Company safety policies, focusing on reducing vehicle incidents and workplace injuries. Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with store personnel, conduct regular audits, and address customer complaints promptly for effective resolution. Description: ABOUT THE ROLE The primary responsibility of the Relief Supervisor's role is the supervision and direction over an area of production within a slag plant reporting to the Operations Manager in East Chicago, IN. Position Location: Holcim Slag Plant is onsite the Cleveland-Cliffs Steel Plant in East Chicago, Indiana. Position Shift: This role works 12 hour shifts, with 4 days on and 4 days off (Monday through Sunday, all calendar days). This is a rotational shift position, one month per shift rotation, the shift hours are 6:00 - 6:00. WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH Review operational control policies and procedures, update to current standard and communicate with affected departments and employees. Monitor all process operations to maximize production rates while meeting quality targets. Supervise 3rd party service including refractory removal and installation, mechanical or electrical maintenance as needed. Manage process materials in accordance with work instruction including but not limited to raw materials, fuels, semi and finished products, and any waste stream. Identify, isolate and report any deviation from internal product specification. Manage equipment failure and process upset conditions to minimize cost and downtime. Work instructions include but are not limited to: /lili Weighing and dispensing of materials /lili Media and buffer preparation /lili Operation of filtration systems (such as dead end filtration, depth filtration, tangential flow filtration) /lili Inoculation, fermentation, harvest, and homogenization of cytokine cells /lili Setup and operation of chromatography columns /lili Aseptic final filtration of intermediates and drug substances /lili Monitor product for quality output using PLC controls, HMI interfacing, integrity testing, and in process testing (pH, Conductivity, and Spectroscopy). Routinely adjust controls and interacts with HMI interfacing to ensure smooth operation of equipment. Performs diagnosis and troubleshooting for equipment and manufacturing processes. /lili Must possess the ability to multitask; problem-solve; formulate action plans based on real data and experience. Must thrive in fast-paced, team environment. /lili Ability to train diverse team members. Communicate processing and sampling times to departments and stakeholders. /lili Follow daily and weekly cleaning routines for cleanrooms and equipment to maintain the required conditions for cleanroom manufacturing. Perform routine checks of manufacturing areas and coordinates with appropriate personnel for resolution. /lili Verify raw materials and commodities; accurately enter raw material and commodities data in MES on daily basis. Performs routine inventory counts and inventory adjustments. Request raw materials and commodities. /lili Complete Batch Records and other cGMP documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Perform daily documentation review and approval. Request routine documentation. Assist with documentation, such as Change Control, CAPA, and Deviation / Investigation. /lili Report nonconformances or events that arise during the shift to the Manager. Gather requested evidence for nonconformances or events that arise during the shift. /lili Assists in the transfer of technology from Process Development to cGMP Manufacturing. Participate in execution of qualification and validation activities. /lili Author and reviews SOPs and other documents to ensure integration of cGMPs and improve process efficiency. /lili Performs process monitoring, including use of databases, documents and/or spreadsheets to support business reporting requirements. /lili Propose improvements and efficiencies to reduce waste and increase production within established quality standards /lili Complies with all safety, cGMP and Company policies, practices and procedures. /lili Performs other functions as required or assigned/li/ul/div div class="job-listing-header"Requirements/div div data-bind="html: Job.Requirements"p /ppstrong Education:/strong /pulli Bachelor's degree, in engineering, pharmaceutical, related life science and at least 5 years of experience; or /lili Master's degree, in engineering, pharmaceutical, related life science and at least 2 years of experience /lili Or an equivalent of 5 - 10 years of industry experience required /lili Upstream and Downstream manufacturing or biotechnology experience is preferred.
