Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during night shift operations to ensure timely achievement of production goals
Monitor team performance, providing feedback, coaching, and on-the-job training to develop team capabilities
Ensure strict compliance with GMPs, food safety regulations, allergen controls, and HACCP standards specific to ingredient handling and preparation
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment that supports the production of safe, high-quality confectionery products
Implement and monitor kitchen production schedules to meet demand while optimizing labor efficiency
Conduct quality checks on ingredient preparation to prevent production disruptions and ensure product consistency
Address operational issues promptly and escalate concerns to senior management as needed
Collaborate with other teams across Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance to optimize workflows and resolve challenges
Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety standards consistently across the team
Maintain accurate shift records including attendance, production logs, safety incidents, and quality documentation
Participate in facility inspections and ensure kitchen areas meet all third-party audit requirements
Systematically evaluate departmental processes, staffing, equipment utilization, and work practices to identify constraints, waste, and performance gaps
Lead continuous improvement initiatives by setting measurable targets, engaging employees in problem-solving, and sustaining gains through standard work, follow-up, and accountability.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment, preferably in kitchen operations
Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, allergen management, and food safety regulations
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop hourly team members
Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate across departments
Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and adapt to changing production needs
Must be able to work night shift hours including overtime as required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, etc.)
Forklift certification helpful but not required
Must pass a post-offer physical, drug screen, and background check

Position Summary

Work Schedule
The Night Shift Fulfillment Supervisor leads our overnight shift; which is typically scheduled from approximately 6:30 pm to 5:00 am, Monday through Friday. Position Brand Description:
The Supervisor of Solvent Recovery Operations is directly responsible for managing the operations for their respective area and shift. The Supervisor will be responsible for solvent recovery systems, associated supply and waste tanks, and air emissions systems. The Supervisor is the management representative on shift. The role is responsible for the supervision of operators involved in the direct execution of operations (per SOPs and operational execution instructions) in order to safely and compliantly support the manufacturing of high-quality medicine. The Supervisor provides leadership and ensures that appropriate staffing is in place. The role will ensure equipment is maintained in a state of compliance and processes in a validated state for their respective area and shift.
In the project delivery phase and startup phase of the project (startup expected 2026 to 2028), leadership roles will be fluid and dynamic as we endeavor to support the project delivery, build a new organization, develop and implement the necessary systems and business processes required to support GMP operations, and build the site culture. This will require significant collaboration, creativity and resilience as the site grows to a full scale GMP manufacturing through start up.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
Daily Operations/Business Management:
* Build and promote a strong Safety and Quality culture. Maintain a safe working environment and conduct operations activities in a manner that protects safety, environment and quality.
* Ensure operations maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements at all times.
* Ensure solvent recovery areas appropriately support the execution of the production plan for the site.
* Ensure consistency of operations on designated shift through active engagement on the floor.

* Enter Trackwise/Veeva events, participate in and lead CAPA investigations
* Set objectives and development plans for operators. Respond to employee relations issues with operators on shift and escalate to management where necessary.

* Build and develop a team, creating clear common purpose and promoting good team spirit.

The Supervisor, Manufacturing is responsible for leading daily production operations for a manufacturing line. This role oversees production associates, ensures safe and compliant manufacturing practices, maintains throughput, quality, and service levels, and drives continuous improvement within a regulated medical device environment. The supervisor manages staffing, workflow, standard work adherence, performance, and communication across the shift to meet SQDC targets and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead day-to-day production activity for the Surgical manufacturing line, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
* Assign labor, balance workloads, and manage resource allocation to meet production schedules and takt time requirements.
* Execute shift huddles, communication updates, and performance reviews (hour-by-hour boards, tier meetings, etc.).
* Monitor production metrics (throughput, FPY, scrap, downtime, labor efficiency) and take immediate action to address issues.
* Ensure adherence to manufacturing instructions, device history records, SOPs, and regulatory requirements (FDA QSR, ISO 13485).
* Support and document deviations, nonconformances, and quality holds; partner with Quality Engineering to resolve issues.
* Maintain traceability, proper documentation, and batch/lot control throughout production.
* Provide direction, coaching, performance feedback, and development to production team members.
* Manage staffing, timekeeping, training, and cross-training to ensure adequate skill coverage.
* Lead onboarding for new associates and ensure proficiency in standard work and quality expectations.
* Support performance management, attendance guidance, and corrective action when necessary.
* Partner with Supply Chain to ensure material availability, component accuracy, and inventory integrity.
* Escalate equipment issues promptly and work with Maintenance/Engineering to restore operation.
* Enforce safety standards, ergonomic practices, and proper use of PPE.
* Participate in Production Readiness for NPI/Sustaining Engineering changes.
* Holds oneself and others accountable to conduct business in a manner compliant with Bioventus' Code of Compliance and Ethics, policies and procedures and internal controls applicable to their role.
* Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
* Bachelors degree (preferred) or a high school diploma with relevant experience
* 3-5 years experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, or equivalent) required.
* Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role required.
* Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA QSR, and ISO 13485 requirements.
* Demonstrated ability to lead a team, manage production flow, and communicate effectively.
* Proven ability to manage priorities, problem-solve, and drive performance in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience within medical device assembly or surgical product manufacturing, preferred.
* Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, standard work, and continuous improvement tools, preferred.
* Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
