    RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinates the recommendation, planning, and implementation of equipment to improve production efficiency, meet cost containment goals, and support plant needs for growth and safety improvements. Inspects capital equipment installations in process and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are met. Develops schedules and controls preventative and predictive maintenance programs. Coordinates planning and contracting of the outside plant engineering services as needed. Directs the operation of power, environmental, electrical, HVAC, compressed gases, water, sewage and refrigeration systems to provide uninterrupted services. Develops and manages that maintenance and capital equipment project budgets. Maintains inventories of maintenance material supplies, critical spares and repair parts at required levels, but within the established budget. Develop, plan, and execute selected capital equipment projects within the SMP plant, including cost estimation, manpower allocation, activity scheduling, and final equipment/system start-up. Participate in continuous improvement activities which target the improvement of equipment performance and the reduction in operating costs for the SMP facility. Provide technical support of plant PM activities, including task definitions, establishment of recommended PM intervals, and evaluation of PM effectiveness. Ensure safe and efficient operation of plant utilities (boilers, compressors, waste water). Supervise and manage recycling and hazardous waste in accordance with the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and company policy.
