The Principle Regulatory Engineer position is based out of our Clinton Clean Energy Center in Clinton, IL.

Expected salary range of $146,700 to $163,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Performs advanced regulatory/technical problem solving and provides analysis/insights in support of nuclear plant operations. Responsible for regulatory/technical decisions. Possesses superior knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has excellent knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations. Understands interrelations and functions of various organizations (e.g., Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Institute of Nuclear Power Operators (INPO), Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), etc.) related to nuclear power. Functions with recognized level of expertise in the regulatory area.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Perform advanced regulatory and technical tasks, and provide insights in support of nuclear plant operations.
Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of regulatory/technical projects and programs.
Provide in-depth regulatory/technical expertise to develop, manage and implement regulatory activities related to plant safety, reliability, maintainability, and availability ensuring compliance to customer's needs, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.
Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper licensing basis management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices, procedures, regulations and codes are used in preparation of products.
Provide regulatory/technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve regulatory issues.
Provide initial or complete task management of regulatory issues.
Recommend new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify operation, reduce costs, reduce regulatory burden, correct regulatory non-compliances, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.
Support resolution of regulatory issues associated with plant design modifications, testing and problem solving.
Assure all regulatory products prepared or overseen are in accordance with applicable procedures, licensing basis, industry codes, and all regulatory requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience and exceptional performance (e.g., rated in upper quartile for the last 2 years)
Superior regulatory/technical expertise in a specific area (e.g., licensing actions, reportability, performance improvement, etc.) and recognized regulatory resource (internal/external)
Effective written and oral communication skills
Approval of VP Licensing & Regulatory Affairs required to obtain this classification (and recommendation of Licensing

As a Project Engineer at Graycor, you will enroll in our Engineering Mentoring Program designed to expose you with the critical hands-on experience necessary to build your successful career in construction. You will receive ongoing, specialized one-on-one training, coaching and mentoring on a variety of challenging and interesting project assignments, and a full rotation between departments. You will be actively involved in your career development, making self-assessments of your progress against established core competencies.
Engineers will typically spend 24 months in the Engineer Mentoring Program before advancing to a new position with Graycor.
AS A PROJECT ENGINEER, YOU WILL GAIN EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
Project Management/ Project Controls:
Assist Project Manager and Superintendent in the efficient control and management of the project, while ensuring safety and quality programs are being executed on the project site.
Develop and maintain the critical path project schedule, including ongoing revisions. Assist the Project Manager and/or Superintendent in the preparation of short-term look-ahead schedules and the application of Lean Construction techniques.
Maintain project documentation and expedite to the Owner, Architect, and Engineers for approval. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the provisions and requirements of all contract documents, including plans, specifications, owner's contract, subcontracts and purchase orders.
Assist in the procurement of equipment and materials, and track and expedite their delivery.
Track and evaluate subcontractor and vendor performance. Interact with subcontractors and vendors regarding technical and contractual matters.
Estimating/ Preconstruction Services:
Assist in the preparation of estimates and quotations to obtain project work. Assist the Project Manager and/or Estimator in bid preparation, subcontractor/vendor solicitation, evaluation and award.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE GRAYCOR ENGINEERING MENTORING PROGRAM, YOU WILL NEED:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or other relevant technical discipline.
0-3 years of relevant construction internship or post-undergraduate experience.
The ability to travel extensively and temporarily reside at the project site for extended periods of time, with travel home provided every other weekend. Travel subsistence pay and travel incentive bonuses may apply.

Seeking a Project Engineer to join our growing Lisle, IL team! The ideal candidate will come from a heavy industrial background (oil & gas, chemical plants, refineries, etc.) All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US and will not require current or future sponsorship.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Support the Project Manager in planning, organizing, and controlling assigned aspects of projects.
Work hand in hand with Project Managers, various engineering disciplines, Estimators, Contractor Foremen and General Superintendents.
Technical communication/coordination lead across all engineering disciplines, Clients, General Contractors, Vendors, Subcontractors, and Management Staff.
Developing Scopes of Work for construction of engineered designs.
Make sure projects are following scope and schedule.
Processing submittals from vendors to working through revision and equipment releasing.
Lead Client and Contractor interface, schedule/attend meetings, and provide written reports.
Assist in constructability planning, proposal, and estimate development.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
5+ years of engineering consulting experience supporting the oil & gas, chemical, renewable energy & power, and manufacturing industries.
Scheduling and planning software experience preferred.
Background in assisting project development and execution.
Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple competing projects.
