What You'll Do
Own mechanical design of custom modular enclosures, precision access doors, and related sub-systems in SolidWorks and Revit, delivering complete models, drawings, and BOMs.
Produce manufacturable drawings, costed BOMs, and clear assembly instructions that hit quality and lead-time targets.
Run FEA-based structural, vibration, and thermal studies to validate safety and performance.
Source & track specialty hardware - hinges, seals, actuators, filtration interfaces - working closely with purchasing and key vendors.
Coordinate with architecture, electrical, and controls teams plus outside design firms to integrate your work into overall facility layouts.
Lead design-for-manufacture and continuous-improvement projects that boost throughput, reliability, and margins.
Provide on-site support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning at both Midwest and Southeast facilities (≈10-15 % travel).
Maintain CAD libraries, engineering change documentation, and best-practice design standards in the PLM system.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (or similar).

PURPOSE:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Facilities, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent experience
3-5+ years of experience as a Facilities Engineer or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing environment
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, utilities, fire protection)
Experience working with contractors, service companies, and facility vendors
Familiarity with local building codes, safety, and compliance requirements
Ability to read and interpret facility drawings, schematics, and specifications
Structured, solution-oriented, and hands-on working style
Willingness to support off-hours activities during critical project phases
PREFFERED SKILLS:
Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing facilities

Responsibilities:
Act as an onsite resident engineer for the engineering design team, ensuring design intent is upheld during construction and act as a single point of contact for all construction closeout deliverables
Implement and oversee the construction closeout process, ensuring all requirements and documentation are completed accurately and on schedule
Conduct site observations, perform field verification, as-built audits, and quality checks of installed systems and contractor documentation, document progress, and provide reports to the design team
Support multiple data center builds in a region / travel as needed
Support construction administration by reviewing RFI's, RFP's, change orders, design upgrades, submittals, and specifications
Review and manage closeout documentation including design drawings, shop drawings, CAD/BIM models, submittals, warranties, and O&M materials
Assist with Conceptual Designs gathered from meetings with the client for Field Engineer focus
Represent the company in project meetings as needed; attend commissioning meetings, construction and coordination meetings
Act as the onsite liaison between ownership, contractors, equipment vendors, owners agents and offsite design teams
When in the field, candidate will be working onsite at the data center project working out of the construction trailer
Participate in equipment inspections, factory witness testing, and vendor QA/QC visits

Ensure that lessons learned are documented and implemented in future projects

Qualifications:
5-15 years experience
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred but relevant experience also considered
EIT or PE license is a plus but not required
Strong understanding of MEP systems (HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, Boilers, Chillers, Generators, UPS, Switchgear, Electrical Power Distribution)
Previous Data Center / Mission Critical experience a must
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM for design reviews is a plus

Operations engineer job in North Charleston, SC
We're seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our collaborative, solutions-driven team. In this role, you'll lead the design and development of mechanical systems from concept to production, while also mentoring junior engineers and guiding cross-functional projects. Primary Job Responsibilities:
Collaborate with customers and internal teams to define product requirements and create design solutions.
Lead and contribute to design efforts for new and existing products.
Develop 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for parts and assemblies (SolidWorks or Inventor preferred).
Check technical drawings for accuracy and completeness.
Build and test prototypes to validate product performance.
Conduct lab testing to meet customer and regulatory standards.
Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
Mentor junior engineers and provide feedback on their work.
Lead engineering projects and delegate tasks effectively.
Participate in design reviews and present concepts to internal stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
7+ years of mechanical design experience, ideally in a production environment
Strong background in sheet metal design
Experience with electronic enclosures, cabinets, and injection-molded plastics is a plus
Familiarity with stress, thermal, and/or flow analysis preferred
Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD tools
Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment

Position Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain cable and wire harness assembly designs.
• Analyze results and perform design reviews.
• Assist with engineering design disposition on discrepancies such as rejection tags, production action requests, and shop revision requests.
• Develop and maintain electrical product details, assemblies, and installation designs for equipment racks, power panels, cable routing, and geometry, antennas.
• Document processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
• Develop statements of work, metrics, schedules, and budgets.
• Perform technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
• Collect data to support the development of statements of work.
• Assist in data gathering of supplier capabilities.
• Review functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and ten years of experience as an aerospace design engineer or related occupation, of which five years must be progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience, and five years of experience with each of the below:
• Project lifecycle management tools including ENOVIA;
• Designing electrical or mechanical systems installation for aviation equipment;
• Creating installation drawings for cable harness assemblies;
• Modelling using CATIA, Solidworks, Siemens, or NX; and
• Conducting root cause analysis of design failures.
Up to 10% domestic travel is required.

**Position Responsibilities:**
+ Assists to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.

+ Supports the management of supplier performance, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
+ Supports IRC production floor during first-of or complex builds.

+ 9+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Bachelor's + 9 years experience, Master's + 7 years experience)
+ 5+ years of experience with 3-D modeling (Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, SketchUp, Pro-E, 3DX, etc.) and/or equivalent combination of additional education and relevant experience.
+ Experience working within cross-functional engineering and production team.
**Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)**
+ 9+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, design and engineering release processes.
+ Demonstrates good problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
+ Working knowledge of standard business software (MS Office Suite).
+ Ability to meet plan delivery deadlines when assigned.
+ Understanding and demonstrated experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent.
