The Role
As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Facilities Engineer I. The Facilities Engineer I will focus on the maintenance, design, and optimization of a company's physical infrastructure. The role typically involves working under the guidance of more senior engineers to ensure that all systems and facilities are functioning efficiently and safely.
The Facilities Engineer 1 is responsible for supporting the maintenance, operation, and improvement of the organization's facilities. The Responsibilities
Supports daily facility operations, ensuring site is meeting the needs of a variety of departments including R&D, production, administration, customer technical support and IT.
Assist in the maintenance and operation of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems.
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure facility systems are operating efficiently.
Support the troubleshooting and repair of equipment and systems as needed.
Collaborate with senior engineers and the facilities team on capital projects and initiatives to improve facility operations.

The Individual

Salary Transparency
The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. The hourly range for this position is $94,000.00 to $159,000.00. Hydraulic Engineer Salary: $82K to $98K plus bonus and full benefits Hours: 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday Education: B.S in engineering is required Experience: 5+ years of experience The Hydraulic Design Engineer will lead and manage the development of new pump hydraulic designs for customer orders from customer request for quotation through design and testing. This will include completion of both hydraulic and some mechanical design elements.
Position Responsibilities:
Leads the development of new hydraulics for customer orders and development projects with up to $2M in budget and annual sales revenues up to $10M.
Leads the development and advancement of the company hydraulic design techniques including CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) tools.
Review results of pump performance tests and discuss results with customers and leads the resolution of challenging problems.
Assist in new product development projects.
Provide technical support the sales team during critical sales efforts.
Represent the business at trade shows and industry organizations.
Leads or assists in the resolution of challenging customer field problems
Conduct hydraulic component design, analysis, and problem resolution using empirical design tools, CFD simulation and/or testing.
Develop tools and methods to improve hydraulic design and analysis techniques, their accuracy and their productivity
Create technical reports for internal and external (customer) circulation in support of project, LOD, internal testing or field testing
Design and conduct laboratory and field experiments on actual equipment as part of a development project, LOD or problem resolution.
Education:
B.S. Engineering, M.S. preferred
Experience:
5+ years of experience of experience in the design of pumps including hydraulic design for candidates with a B.S. For candidates with an M.S. or higher degree, less experience may be accepted.
Skills/knowledge:
Experience with pump testing, interpreting results and problem solving.
Field experience with solving site hydraulic problems.
Experience in designing hydraulic centrifugal pump components.
Heavy duty industrial pump hydraulic and mechanical design expertise.
Working knowledge of CFD including the ability to apply it in the design and evaluation of turbomachinery hydraulics.
Project management skills.
Interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of foundry, machining and fabrication processes.
Knowledge of industry standards including API, ANSI, ISO, HI, etc.
Creativity (i.e. ' ability to approach projects in non-traditional fashion).
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.
Ability to identify barriers to success and find solutions working across and up the organization.
Effective written and verbal communication.
Experience with HI and API 610 requirements is desirable.
