Administers contracts to ensure projects are built to standards set in the “Request For Proposal” (RFP), labor is provided in accordance with PHA's “Women and Minority Owned Business” and “Move to Work initiatives”; provides assurance materials are installed per the RFP and other contract documents; provides closeout documents at the completion of projects. Assures contractors follow all safety measures per OSHA codes including lock out/tag out to de-energize mechanical, electrical, plumbing and sprinkler systems. Holtec International, Inc. located in Camden, NJ, has an opening for a “Lead Nuclear Engineer-SMR” at a minimum rate of pay of $145,392.00 per year. The successful applicant for this position must have the minimum of a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physic or a closely related field with minimum of 2 years' experience with Advanced Simulation Software such as MCNP, CASMO/SIMULATE, a track record managing nuclear engineering technical teams and projects, managing schedules, budgets and interdepartmental coordination, and expertise in nuclear engineering disciplines, including core design, shielding and criticality analysis. The position's work site is 1 Holtec Blvd., Camden, Camden County, NJ. The Lead Nuclear Engineer - SMR at Holtec International oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of critical technical and strategic objectives for the company's Small Modular Reactor (SMR) design. This role combines advanced nuclear engineering expertise with strong managerial and leadership responsibilities, driving the design and regulatory processes while fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and external partners to ensure successful project outcomes. Key responsibilities: Directly manage a multidisciplinary nuclear engineering team, overseeing day-to-day activities and long-term objectives including: nuclear core design, shielding, source term, and criticality analysis efforts for the SMR (SMR-300 modular reactor); preparation and review of technical documentation, topical reports, and Safety Analysis Report chapters; automation efforts for data processing and reactor simulations to enhance team productivity; and other related nuclear engineer and safety tasks. Develop team priorities and allocate resources to ensure alignment with project schedules, budgets, and milestones. Collaborate with internal departments such as deterministic safety analysis, operations, and instrumentation and control, external partners, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project outcomes. Recruit, mentor, and evaluate team members, driving professional development and ensuring compliance with Holtec's quality assurance procedures. Establish scopes of work and negotiate contracts with academic institutions, vendors, and subcontractors. Validate and verify computational models and analyses using advanced simulation tools such as MCNP and CASMO/SIMULATE.
