Essential Functions:

Paid Summer 2023 internship working in EMC's information technology team Participates in assigned research and small projects with the Statistical Data Management team Learns about the different tools used by the Statistical Data Management team to build solutions Participates as part of a scrum team Learns about the various roles for Statistical Data Analysis at EMC Provides new ideas and improvements to current processes


Education & Experience:


Completion of junior year preferred Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher

Overview of Role

You support the Business Development team in a strategic project and in managing the Bank's day-to-day operational pricing and revenue management activities. This exciting internship will last for a period of six months with a start date of November or December 2022.

Responsibilities
Support project office activities and coordinate administrative tasks Perform financial analysis and provide analytical insight Assist in the maintenance of the pricing framework and in managing relevant policies, processes and technical functionalities in the banking system Support the daily handling of operational aspects related to pricing, including special condition requests and supervision of operational fee processes Provide support, analysis, and training for front office colleagues

Education and Qualifications
Bachelor or Master's degree Strong MS Office skills, prior experience with Avaloq an advantage

Experience, Skills and Competencies Required
Prior experience in Banking desirable, preferably in the area of pricing, revenue management, or financial controlling Understanding of the Swiss wealth management industry and related business activities Strong analytical skills combined with attention to detail Commercial and problem-solving mind-set combined with hands-on approach Self-driven, organized and collaborative personality First-rate interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively Fluent in English and German, any other language a plus

We established the Technology & Operations Program (TOP) in 2000 to develop our next generation of leaders. As a summer intern, you will work closely with a team and support them in various aspects of their work, including projects with the potential for significant business impact. This is a 10-week internship for college juniors.Interns with excellent performance can receive a full-time offer at the end of the internship!
What You'll Do


Your internship will require you to learn a new or expand an existing skill set and knowledge base, and/or complete a project that is critical to the success of the group, department or firm. During the internship, you will be matched with a mentor who will help with your assimilation into the firm and provide career advice. Upon successful completion of your internship, you will have the opportunity to present to a committee of senior Operations & Technology executives.


About the Team


Operations delivers a wide range of middle and back office support to all of AllianceBernstein's investment services (equities, fixed income, alternative investments) as well as distribution channels (institutional clients, individuals and private clients). You will work with the front office and portfolio management as well with various custodian banks and vendors, and provide regional support in the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

As an Intern, you will be placed in one of the below teams:

Derivative Operations provides operational and administrative processing support for Derivatives Trading and Investment Management for Fixed income, Equity and all other non-standard alternative investment vehicles. Client Guideline Management is responsible for the coding of investment restrictions into the compliance tools, and the monitoring of potential guideline breaches in our clients' portfolios. Global Portfolio Administration is generally responsible for account administration, such as bank reconciliations and account transitions, for clients utilizing an external custodian for their assets. Private Client Administration serves as an operational liaison to Private Client Sales and Portfolio Management and provides administrative support for all Private Client accounts. Reference Data Services is responsible for maintaining core data for all AB processes, such as security setup, pricing, corporate actions, class actions and account setup, as well as the entry, maintenance and quality of the data. Fixed Income - Alternatives Operations is responsible for implementing and maintaining an operational model to support AB's expanding Private Credit Products. These include Middle Market Lending, and Residential/Securitized Mortgage. Operational Risk partners with the business to develop key risk and performance indicators that provide a balanced view of our organization and can be used to improve its processes, ensure proper controls and escalation capabilities are in place globally, and coordinate risk mitigation initiatives in partnership with other business units. Alternatives Infrastructure & Operations supports alternative investment products and complex fund structures including a variety of products and strategies. The team is able to support these complex structures by increasing scale and capabilities through automation and design of efficient processes and tools, while instituting best practices.
