    The Food Business Specialist (Community Education Specialist 3) will support outreach, education, and technical assistance efforts as part of the Local Farm and Food Innovation (F3Local) Initiative's Farm-to-Market program. Serving Merced, Fresno, Madera, Kings, and Tulare Counties, the specialist will support small-scale farmers, food entrepreneurs, and innovators by developing, delivering and coordinating workshops and training programs, as well as conducting outreach in the five-country service area. This includes developing a comprehensive curriculum and educational materials focused on business development topics such as entrepreneurial skills, licensing, permitting, certification, and access to capital. The role will involve both group instruction through workshops and direct one-on-one technical assistance tailored to each entrepreneur's needs. With a strong emphasis on community engagement, the Food Business Specialist will build trusted relationships with local business owners and collaborate with regional partners to expand support services and resource access. The position requires strong facilitation skills, curriculum design experience, and knowledge of food systems or small business development. Provide direct services as outlined in the WRIL Program guide and the VDC Program guide. Travel to consumers' homes, possible employment sites, and other sites in the community as needed to provide effective training, case management and program participation. Research employment opportunities in the area to know what skills are most needed by WRIL consumers. Develop comprehensive, person-centered care plans and independent living plans for each consumer. Provide direct services, including job coaching, support, and maintenance of required paperwork. Become familiar with resources available to persons with disabilities that may assist them in employment options and independent living. Conduct community training, outreach, and in-services as needed. Complete and submit all required documents and forms to the appropriate RICV supervisors. Perform all other duties as assigned. Pursuant to Title 17 Section 56722 staff duties shall not be assigned to more than one full-time position and staff duties shall not be performed by volunteers. The SS will assist the Club Manager (CM) with updating member information, collecting member debt, and maintaining a professional and welcoming environment at the club. The SS will frequently need to assist the CM with organizing, cleaning, and stocking the club. Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Having a customer first attitude. Greeting every member with a welcoming smile and be willing to help at all times. Check in all members using the member information system upon entry to the club. Answer phones Assist with member account issues Assist members with access to club amenities; E,g., Classes, Hydro Chairs, Tanning etc. Upholding company standards; maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Assist with cleaning the club equipment, floors, restrooms, desks, etc. Re-racking weights. Stocking club restrooms and stocking club retail displays. The SS does not oversee any employees. The SS reports directly to the CM.
