MISSION / SUMMARY: The Mill Manager has oversight of all day-to-day operations including overall P&L responsibility, safety, quality, production and maintenance of a SUS mill. They continue to drive a coordinated, metrics-driven, results-oriented culture. They work closely with the VP SUS Mills to address potential strategic, tactical and operating issues to ensure future growth and success. They provide professional management and leadership to the mill, including mentoring and developing key management members JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following. * Accountable for oversight of all day to day operations including overall P&L responsibility, safety, quality, production and maintenance. * Drive a coordinated, metrics-driven, results-oriented culture of operations excellence based on a foundation of accountability, respect, continuous improvement, quality and safety. * Address potential strategic, tactical and operational issues to ensure future growth and success. * Establish a successfully integrated operating rhythm with division leadership (Mill and Converting), local organization and functional business partners (Finance, HR, Procurement, etc.) relative to coordinated project and capital management, schedule fulfillment, annual planning and quality. * Prepare major capital project requests and manage to execution on time and budget. * Champion best demonstrated practices throughout the Mill Division. BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE: * A minimum of 15 years work experience in the paper industry demonstrating progressively increasing responsibility in integrated mill paper making. The candidate must possess significant experience in the entire papermaking process from stock prep to the customer. This would include a) operations management, b) proven track record of improving mill operations, c) experience with industrial machinery and control systems d) thorough understanding of analytical problem solving methodology. * Previous successful experience as a Mill Manager, Plant Manager, or Production Manager EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE: * A minimum of a 4 year BS degree in Engineering, Paper Sciences or an equivalent degree in related technical field. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: * Demonstrated success in leading multiple turnaround situations in production, talent and culture including establishing goals, driving accountability at all levels across the organization, proactively addressing deficiencies, rewarding performance accomplishments. * Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation). * Proven success in attracting, retaining, developing talent and addressing personnel performance issues to achieve an optimal organization structure for delivering operational excellence.
