UIC Oil & Gas is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently operate a variety of heavy machinery, including bulldozers, shovels, excavators, loaders, and forklifts. This role supports construction, excavation, and material handling operations while ensuring all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
Rotational: 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off.
**Responsibilities**
Essential functions will include:
+ Operate various pieces of heavy equipment, including bulldozers, shovels, excavators, loaders, and forklifts.
+ Perform equipment operation tasks as directed by the site superintendent.
+ Follow all safety protocols and operational guidelines while operating equipment.
+ Conduct basic equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs.
+ Assist with construction, excavation, and material handling activities as required.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned.
+ Equipment - PistenBully, Tucker Sno-cat, Excavator Drills, Volvo Loaders and Case Quadtracs (Steigers)
**Qualifications**
Minimum Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Valid driver's license and ability to maintain it.
+ Operator's proficiency with a variety of equipment, including but not limited to bulldozers, shovels, excavators, loaders, and forklifts.
+ Skilled in operating basic construction equipment such as forklifts and loaders.
+ Ability to perform work independently without direct supervision.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to perform duties and operate tools in strict compliance with OSHA regulations.
+ Punctual and reliable work history.
+ Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
+ Working knowledge of commercial construction practices.
+ 5+ years of related experience in commercial construction.
+ 3+ years of prior work history as a heavy equipment operator.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ CDL license.
Physical and Mental Demands:
+ Good range of motion in body and limbs; ability to reach in all directions.
+ Ability to handle and manipulate objects and materials.
+ Coordination of eyes, hands, feet, and fingers to perform assigned tasks.
+ Adequate visual and hearing skills to safely operate equipment and complete tasks.

+ Perform extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects over 50 pounds.
+ Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and vibration.
+ Tolerance for constant jarring of the body when operating equipment on uneven surfaces.
+ Ability to sit in the operator's seat of equipment and safely reach all controls, pedals, switches, levers, and buttons necessary for safe operation.
+ Maintain adequate field of vision to monitor all instruments, gauges, warning lights, windows, and mirrors while operating equipment.
Working Conditions:
+ Work in all types of weather conditions.
+ Perform duties at various elevations.
+ Job sites may contain light to heavy equipment, materials, communication equipment, and tools.
+ Presence of people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking in the work area.
+ Occasional exposure to bells, alarms, and whistles.
+ Possible exposure to extreme cold, high noise levels, constantly changing work environments, irregular or slippery surfaces, moving equipment, open excavations, temporary structures, and general construction hazards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Operates front-end loader with forks, bucket and miscellaneous attachments.
Services and maintains forklift - this includes greasing the forklift once per week, checking all fluid levels every tour, changing the oil as per maintenance schedule, checking for fluid leaks, adequate air in tires, working lights and systems once per week.
Moves, stores, and keeps inventory of all equipment/mud tubulars on pad and yard, and mud additives on rig location. Maintains a logbook. Notifies Rig Manager of delivered equipment to rig site.
Forwards packing slips for materials to Rig Manager's office upon receipt of items. Ensures all materials are received and notifies Driller of any shortages.
Ensures materials for shipment are shipped out with appropriate, complete documentation.
Maintains BOP skid every crossover with all nuts to flush with end of studs on all crossovers before storing on rack.
Keeps all racks organized - metal, bottles, hose.
Maintains rig location - removing snow, leveling yard, filling in holes, scratching pad to prevent slips. Keeping location clean, removing any wood, metal, scrapings, etc.
Reports any broken equipment to Rig Manager's office immediately.
Fuels and monitors auxiliary equipment on location.
Clean and maintain upper doghouse with a stock of water, coffee, cups, and supplies. Day tour operator fills out order sheet and picks up supplies from base camp.
Provides relief on drill rig floor when needed.
3. HSE Responsibilities
Conducts his job duties in compliance with Nordic HSE policies.
Works toward achieving Nordic's annual HSE goals.
Assists Rig Management in identifying operational non-conformances at the rigsite.
Reports any spills on pad to Rig Manager's office immediately- including oil, water, glycol, drilling mud, dry mud products, etc.
Reports any property or environmental damage by third-party vendors to Rig Manager's office immediately.
Assists in development and implementation of standard operating procedures.

* Ensure the Mill Operations Supervisor and peers are well informed of task status by providing carryover and updates of completed tasks throughout the shift
* Communicate effectively with mill operators and your supervisor about your assigned tasks primarily in mill cleanup and asking for further clarification on unfamiliar tasks
* Ensure your operational competency is developed by participating in reviewing and learning new processes, engaging in specialized area training, and regular evaluation of personal performance

Job Summary
The Elementary Building Plant Operator maintains elementary school buildings, grounds, and equipment for the Anchorage School District. The BPO cleans and makes minor repairs to the building, equipment, and grounds, and monitors supplies. The position has a retirement association with the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS).
Job Requirements
The following are required:
* A high school diploma or equivalent. Two years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of the education requirement.
* One year of custodial experience.
* Knowledge of a general custodial position, to include methods and materials used in custodial work.
* Ability to perform heavy work such as extensive stooping and crouching, sustained standing, pushing and pulling, reaching with hands and arms and occasionally lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds.
* Ability to make substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers required.
* Successful completion of written skills test on file.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

The following are preferred:
* One year of semi-skilled maintenance experience.
* Ability to use custodial equipment safely and effectively.
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
* Ability to keep written records and originate written reports.
Essential Job Functions
* Opens school plant in the morning and checks for vandalism.
* Checks heating and electrical equipment and facilities.
* Surveys buildings and grounds for hazards. Reports any findings to supervisor.
* Makes minor repairs to custodial equipment, classroom furniture, etc.
* Cleans outside of building, such as sidewalks, by sweeping and/or removing snow. Sands and/or chips ice on steps and walkways, keeping all entrances and exits free of any snow and ice. Clears a path to dumpster for safe trash removal.
* Keeps school grounds in a safe and sanitary condition by removing paper, cans, and trash from the school grounds on a daily basis.
* Maintains playground equipment in safe condition including areas around swings, climbing apparatus, and other playground equipment.
* Reports when repairs are necessary.
* Arranges cafeteria, multi-purpose rooms, and other rooms for meetings and special events.
* Replaces light bulbs.
* Raises and lowers flag each day school is in session.
* Locks and secures building as required.
* Cleans up all spills during shift.
* Sweeps halls and entryways daily.
* Regularly checks restrooms during shift for cleanliness and replenishes supplies as needed.
* Assists teachers as requested.
* Cleans assigned area on a daily basis.
* Receives, accounts for, and stores school and custodial supplies and equipment when delivered.
* Cleans stopped/clogged plumbing fixtures, or reports problems when necessary.
* Waters and maintains lawns and shrubs immediately surrounding the school.
* Washes exterior windows.
Physical /Mental Demands
The physical demands of this job require frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking and hearing. Specific visual abilities are also required. The employee is regularly required to reach with his/her hands and arms and occasionally lift items weighing less than 40 lbs. Additionally, the employee must be able to understand vague and implicit instructions, be able to readily recall facts and details, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. The employee must have the ability to effectively manage the stress of working with students, parents, and other employees representing diverse cultures, personalities, and work styles in a dynamic work environment.
