Job Summary
To be able to operate all BAF trucks from point A to point B as directed. To safely and legally meet all legal obligations as a current licensed CDL Class A driver. Responsible to haul all products and materials as needed for BAF.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities
The primary responsibility of this position is to operate the yard dog and move trailers around our facility in Shelley. You must be able to:
1. Legally and safely operate BAF vehicles. Be drug and alcohol-free, and follow drug and alcohol rules and regulations as prescribed by law, submit to random drug and alcohol testing as required.
2. Clean all trailers taken to the plant for loading purposes and document with a container and loading checklist.
3. Be sure all loads traveling from the plant or warehouse have bills of lading with them. Must fill out a yearly form, motor vehicle drivers certification of violations
4. Make sure driver maintenance is performed, grease 5th wheel, adjust brakes, check oil and fluids, tires etc. Once a day driver will fill out a vehicle inspection report.
5. Following the SAFE philosophy, talk with employees observed to be working unsafely in order to stop the unsafe behavior and explain the safe way of performing a given task. Participate in the Safe Observations
6. Protect yourself, others, and customers by following safe work practices, GMP's and Sanitation Guidelines
All employees are responsible for upholding the principles of SQF All employees are responsible for immediately reporting any food safety, food quality, or plant security issues to management for appropriate action.
Qualifications:
(a) When hired, possess a valid CDL license meeting all requirements of section three (code of federal regulations) qualification of drivers (49 CFR part 391) Or if job awarded by bid, employee will satisfactorily complete all training programs and processes, all the steps of driver certification, and qualify and satisfactorily complete all phases of CDL process.
(b) Carry on person current; CDL and medical examiners certificate.
(c) Pass an annual driving record review.
(d) Be reasonably insurable by BAF
(e) Maintain an acceptable; current CDL, driving record, insurance risk and be drug and alcohol-free to continue in the employ of BAF as a truckdriver.

12th grade or equivalent or current truckdriver bid holder or 2 provable years of over the road experience. Employee needs to possess good math skills, with an ability to compute basic math equations. Language Skills: Employee must be able to effectively read, write and speak English. Be able to speak clearly and able to comprehend written instructions and write comprehensively. Reasoning Ability: Employee needs to effectively apply training along with common sense for day to day activities and challenges. These include all BAF policies, safety practices and procedures.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; turn head and neck freely both ways, look up and down using head and neck; use hands to finger; handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee is regularly required to talk and hear in an office, in a truck, in a warehouse, a production plant environment. The employee must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Supervisory Accountabilities:
Employee will report to Warehouse Supervisor. Work direction may be received from other employees including but not limited to inventory and shipping clerk or their designates, pull pack operators, BAF truckdrivers, other team members and associates of warehouse work group, and finally all requests made by Plant and Shift Superintendents.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often near moving mechanical parts. the work environment is in; a warehouse, a manufacturing plant, a truck or outside in all weather conditions. With temperature extremes at times may need to wear a coat or a light jacket, due to hot or cold fluctuations. The employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Employee will often work in tight or confined places. The noise levels will vary for employee at times, requiring hearing protection.

Class A CDL required
Clean driving record
Forklift certification
DOT physical card

Safety glasses, steel/composite toed shoes, and hearing protection when working on production floor
While this is a driver position which will require mostly inside a truck driving this position is also performed in outside weather conditions including a broad range of temperatures, rain, sleet, snow, wind, and high humidity. Muddy or icy conditions on both roads and jobsites may be encountered.
