Heavy TruckDriver I positions drive single-unit two or three-axle heavy trucks, five to ten-cubic yard dump trucks, six-wheel drive dump trucks, 800 series heat patch trucks, crack seal trucks, 811 series refuse packer trucks, 6300 series refuse packer trucks, and 9000 series five-cubic yard dump trucks equipped with a front-end loader, 803 series eight-cubic yard dump trucks or drive vehicles which tow trailers with a manufactured gross vehicle weight of less than 10,000 pounds; perform pre-trip inspections; keep mileage and service records; assist in loading and unloading trucks using a loader or similar equipment, including refuse barrels from City beaches and parks; perform unskilled construction and maintenance work; and perform other duties as assigned.
NOTES:
* Heavy TruckDriver I employees may be required to work weekends, extended periods of night or unusual shift work for which they may receive 5% additional pay.
* Heavy TruckDriver I employees who operate commercial vehicles are required by California State Law, as a condition of employment, to submit to drug and alcohol testing. Prior to hire, a background check will be completed in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and with former employers regarding drug and alcohol testing results.

LICENSE: A valid California Class A or B Driver License AND a valid California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) medical certificate dated within the last two years are required at the time of application.

Seasonal Driver:
Seasonal Drivers are an important part of our operations, ensuring event equipment is delivered, installed, and picked up safely, on time, and in excellent condition. This is not only a driving position, you will also work closely with our Installation Team to set up and take down event equipment at client locations. As a Seasonal Driver, you will operate company vehicles such as commercial vans, 16-24 foot box trucks, flatbeds, commercial pickup trucks, and other fleet vehicles, depending on location. All shifts begin at a Bright Event Rentals warehouse, where you'll meet your team before heading to event sites. Work schedules vary based on event needs and may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Job Responsibilities:
Safely operate Bright vehicles in compliance with state laws and company policies.
Complete assigned delivery and pick-up routes in a safe and timely manner.
Work alongside the Installation Team to load, unload, set up, and dismantle event equipment such as tables, chairs, flooring, lighting, tents, dishware, and custom pieces.
Communicate with Dispatch regarding schedules, updates, and any delays.
Transfer products between locations when required.
Complete required vehicle inspections using fleet management software.
Qualifications for Seasonal Drivers:
Valid state Driver's License (Commercial Driver's License is not required).
Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check; prior delivery or event driving experience preferred.
Comfortable operating different vehicle types, including vans, box trucks (16-24 ft), flatbeds, and pickup trucks (availability varies by location).
Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
Flexible schedule, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
Great communication skills with customers and team members.
Bilingual in Spanish is highly valued.
Basic knowledge of fleet management or GPS routing software is a plus.

Job Summary
Responsible for safely driving a tractor trailer combination vehicle in and around the city, state, job sites and company property; and for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of product.
Job Responsibilities
Safely drive truck to and from destination applying knowledge of DOT driving regulations and area roads
Check loads to ensure product is being hauled in an appropriate and safe manner
Verify directions with plant personnel before leaving the plant to ensure delivery to the correct customer and job site
Strive to meet customer expectations without exception and achieve highly positive customer satisfaction survey results consistent with strategic objectives
Develop extensive working relationships with customers, both external and internal, in order to maximize opportunities for CEMEX and to ensure customer needs are addressed
Keep equipment in acceptable condition of cleanliness using approved cleaning materials and supplies
Maintain personal appearance in neat and clean manner.
Maintain contact with supervisor/dispatch to receive and transmit delivery instructions
Assist other company employees as needed
Complete pre and post-trip inspections on truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water

Drive gas or diesel powered trucks. Pick up, transport and deliver parts, material, equipment and components to pre-determined destinations. Vehicles typically weigh less than 1½ tons. Primary Responsibilities:
Drive trucks up to 26,000 pounds to destination for pick up and delivery based on instructions or directions received and by using maps.
Inspect truck for defects before and after trips.
Monitor vehicle during operation and report maintenance/repair requirements to Dispatcher.
Secure loads being transported to ensure safe and undamaged arrival at destination.
Report and receive direction via radio or cellular phone.

Must be able to hook up and/or disconnect tractor-trailer combination vehicles.
Maintain driver log according to ICC regulations.

Professionally and safely perform emergency road service duties as may be dispatched to you, such as, but not necessarily limited to:
Perform damage free towing

Daily inspects the truck for safety, organization and related equipment, tools, rigging inventory

Immediately reports tools or equipment damaged or missing;
Safe driving behavior is a must. Obey all traffic laws, drive defensively, always wear your seat belt, remember our 4-second following rule, minimize backing and left turns.
Trucks are kept clean inside and out; maintains the truck(s) fuel tanks half full at all times; Maintains truck fluid levels according to manufacturer standards and notes quantities added on the pre-shift inspection sheet.
Maintains the storage yard in a safe, clean and orderly manner. Ensures that all trash must be properly disposed of and not left in the truck or on the ground. Secures the storage yard when leaving.

Requirements:
Candidate must reside near their assigned area in order to meet customer service time requirements
Ability to successfully pass DOT medical exam
Current and valid driver's license with a clean driving record
