The Laser Marking & Welding Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining laser welding and engraving equipment. The operator will also perform manual scribe line operations and bead blasting as per specifications. Essential Job Functions:
Set up and operate laser welding and laser marking machines (LW300A, Telesis, FOBA) and perform manual scribe line operations per job specifications.
Perform manual scribe line operations using mechanical tools, stencils, or other precision instruments, relying on hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Operate bead blasting equipment to process parts according to defined specifications and surface finish requirements.
Follow instructions and directives from Team Leads and Supervisors regarding work prioritization.
Interpret engineering drawings, including orthographic projections, and follow detailed process diagrams and technical documentation.
Prepare workpieces for welding, marking, or scribe line operations, ensuring proper setup and cleanliness.
Inspect and measure finished products using precision tools (e.g., calipers, comparators) to verify conformance to specifications.
Perform basic product inspections and functional tests (e.g., QR Code verification).
Set and control machine parameters and files based on defined settings and process requirements.
Perform preventive maintenance duties on laser and related equipment as scheduled or directed.
Collaborate with engineers during R&D phases to support new product development and process testing.
Accurately document inspection results, job progress, and data entries in the ERP/MES system.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization at workstations (5S).
Adhere to all safety, ESD, and PPE protocols during operations.
Perform tasks with a focus on minimizing rework and repair by adhering to quality standards and best practices.
Demonstrate a commitment to efficiency by meeting or exceeding process times while upholding quality standards and adjusting to the specialized needs of less frequently built custom models.
Qualifications:
Hands-on experience in a manufacturing, production, or mechanical assembly environment.
Willingness and ability to learn and operate laser marking or welding equipment (experience with any industrial laser platform is a plus but not required).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, process diagrams, and technical documentation.
Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Basic computer skills and experience with manufacturing software or databases.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2 years hands-on experience in manufacturing, machine operating, quality inspection, or comparable work; Equivalent combination of education, training, or experience will also be considered.

Perform routine scheduled Chemical PMs which include the removal of spent baths, spent rinse water baths and the makeup of fresh baths (per instructions) and rinse baths.
Keep inventory of chemicals and all other laboratory supplies and equipment.
Clean and maintain laboratory equipment.
Assist Wastewater Treatment Department as needed.
Perform other duties as needed.

The Temp Station Operator Co-Op position is designed to provide a student with hands-on exposure to electric generation and utility operations in a structured, educational environment. The temp Co-Op employee will gain practical experience while supporting staff through work such as data analysis, assisting operators, and project support.
Proposed Term: January 5,2026 - Feb 27, 2026 (8 weeks)
Total Hours: 320 Hours (Approximately 40 hours per week).

Essential Job Functions
Duties and Responsibilities
* Observe plant operations and maintenance activities for education purposes
* Assist Station Operators with day-to-day operational support tasks, including:
* Recording operational data and parameters
* Updating logs, checklists, and documentation
* Assisting with rounds, inspections, and system checks
* Assist McNeil staff in the implementation and population of the Fix Preventive Maintenance System (Rockwell Automation)
* Learning how plant equipment operates and how it is configured
* Identifying equipment locations and system relationships
* Entering asset data, maintenance tasks and supporting documentation into Fix
* Assisting with verification of equipment information under supervision
* Communicate observed abnormal conditions, safety concerns, or equipment issues to supervising personnel.
* Work on Engineering Graduation Project coordinated with McNeil leadership, using real plant systems, data, and operational challenges as the project basis.
* Assist with water chemistry monitoring and support activities, including:
* Assisting the sampling, testing, and recording water chemistry results
* Entering water chemistry data into logs or tracking systems under supervision
* Assist Maintenance staff with preventive maintenance support at McNeil Generating Station, Winooski 1 Hydro Generating Station, and Gas Turbine.
* Support documentation updates, SOP reviews, and asset inventory efforts.
* Participate in meetings, walkthroughs, and learning opportunities as assigned
Supervision
* The temp Co-Op employee will work under the direct supervision of BED Shift Supervisor.
