As a Chemical Process Operator, you will work a rotating shift in our chemical manufacturing plant and will perform operating activities as part of the manufacturing team to ensure the safe and efficient production and packing of titanium dioxide pigment and associated products. The Chemical Operator is responsible for safe and proper operation of equipment in his/her area in accordance with the standard operating instructions, company policies and shift supervisor's instructions. This is a safety critical role. Key activities include: Adherence to all SHE policies and procedures and INEOS Pigments' 20 principles of process and Behavioral Safety and Life Saving Rules Makes appropriate adjustments to meet safety, quality, and environmental requirements. Tends equipment or semi-automatic systems that processes chemical substances into industrial intermediate and finished products. Reports and/or resolves conditions affecting safety, efficiency or product quality with peers, technical or supervisory personnel. Troubleshoots equipment problems and process upsets. Monitors in-process quality results for slurry production and packaging quality for dry production. Monitors maintenance activity in the area, including signing of work permits. Operate with understanding, ABB induction furnace. Transfer 6-ton ladle of iron via monorail and pour into Ajax furnace. Repair refractory in ABB furnace, Ajax furnace, 2-ton ladle and 6-ton ladles. Add carbon and copper in accordance with Lab Technicians instructions. Draw metal samples from ABB or Ajax furnace and deliver to the Met Lab. Deliver iron to the Asea furnace via the transfer car. Operate fork lift truck, JLG lifting device, and Bobcat skid steer. Participate in ABB furnace reline operation. Skim slag from the top of the ABB and Ajax furnaces and the ladles. Perform a daily safety inspection of Lift Truck, Monorail Crane, Service Crane, and Yard Crane. Be trained in all equipment operation and refractory repair procedures. Requirements Typical job duties include: Set-Up: Make exact and concise set-up on all machines within the work cell. Remove and replace tooling as required for a variety of parts. Perform precision set-ups involving alignment and securing of fixtures, setting speeds and feeds and various other parameters according to the part to be produced and the machine to be used. On initial set-up use precontrolled set-up procedures. Precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and dial indicators must be used. Work with the CNC control panel. Perform Production Run: Place part in holding fixture and clamp in place, start machine by push button, foot pedal or lever. Unclamp and remove part when machine completes operations. Deburr part, assemble parts, weld rivet, Double Disc, Notch the nose, and repeat the cycle. Check parts with gauges provided and record finding on charts. Make all adjustments necessary to ensure parts stay within specified control limits. Simultaneous set-up and operation of multiple machines is required due to long cycle times. Keep coolant and oil levels at the proper levels and concentrations. After hardening is done, check handle alignment and straighten if needed. Check joint tensions and adjust as needed. Weigh gage as needed. Check handle spread and gage as needed. Check nose gap and gage as needed. Rope cut pliers following standard procedures. Re-file as needed. Needle Nose pliers must have the nose adjusted to meet Quality standards. Cell operators will be required to learn all of the jobs that are performed within the work cell. Complete appropriate paperwork and maintain 5S requirements. Qualifications: Requires some initiative and ingenuity to achieve the proper goals. Summary/Objective This position performs tasks required for the operation of hydraulic excavation equipment for the construction/upgrade of underground utilities, including communications conduit, gas, water, sewer, electric, and more. Load and unload equipment in a manner that is secure and damage-free Transport associated tools, materials, and/or equipment safely Complete a daily inspection of equipment prior to commencing work In conjunction with the crew, operate the equipment to assist in placing underground utilities Operate equipment in accordance with company and industry standards Responsible for locating existing underground utilities and verifying them according to blueprints Identify utilities in the construction area and bore path Connect/stub-up conduit and wire, as required Dig pits, trenches, or potholes as required, including windows when crossing utilities Restore and/or landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite Accurately complete all required company documentation for each assignment (i.e., timesheet, vehicle log, expense report) Adhere to all established company safety policies and perform work in a safe manner Perform other duties as assigned to help the team complete a project Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to read and interpret engineering/construction prints, plans, and specifications Knowledge of utility depths and placements Possess general knowledge of construction practices Ability to work in various environments/settings with moderate to loud noise levels Ability to work in trenches, excavations, and manholes Must have attention to detail and be thorough in completing work tasks Ability to work efficiently, independently, and collaboratively within a team environment Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to move materials/equipment weighing up to 80 pounds Ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Able to work 5-7 days a week, 10+ hours a day when necessary Willing to work outside in varying weather conditions Preferred Education and Experience One year of experience operating a directional bore drill Previous rock boring experience One year of Hydraulic Excavators, Skid Loader, and Dozer experience Class A CDL Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must be willing and able to travel out of town with occasional overnight stays to assigned projects Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds on an occasional basis Pass pre-employment drug test and criminal background screen Complete and pass a DOT Physical Physical Demands This position typically requires balancing, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, grasping, reaching, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climbing, hearing, and talking. Job DescriptionDescription: The Machine Shop Operator is responsible for the set-up, production run, and general operations of the work cell. Processes and procedures employees are expected to follow are located in the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for each machine and function the associates perform. All associates are expected to read and understand the SOP prior to utilizing equipment or performing job-related tasks. On the job training available! Requirements: Typical job duties include: Set-Up: Make exact and concise set-up on all machines within the work cell. Remove and replace tooling as required for a variety of parts. Perform precision set-ups involving alignment and securing of fixtures, setting speeds and feeds and various other parameters according to the part to be produced and the machine to be used. On initial set-up use precontrolled set-up procedures. Precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and dial indicators must be used. Work with the CNC control panel. Perform Production Run: Place part in holding fixture and clamp in place, start machine by push button, foot pedal or lever. Unclamp and remove part when machine completes operations. Deburr part, assemble parts, weld rivet, Double Disc, Notch the nose, and repeat the cycle. Check parts with gauges provided and record finding on charts. Make all adjustments necessary to ensure parts stay within specified control limits. Simultaneous set-up and operation of multiple machines is required due to long cycle times. Keep coolant and oil levels at the proper levels and concentrations. After hardening is done, check handle alignment and straighten if needed. Check joint tensions and adjust as needed. Weigh gage as needed. Check handle spread and gage as needed. Check nose gap and gage as needed. Rope cut pliers following standard procedures. Re-file as needed. Needle Nose pliers must have the nose adjusted to meet Quality standards. Cell operators will be required to learn all of the jobs that are performed within the work cell. Complete appropriate paperwork and maintain 5S requirements. Qualifications: Requires some initiative and ingenuity to achieve the proper goals. Good ability and vision of adjustments of different characteristics on all pliers needed.
