Requirements Typical job duties include: Set-Up: Make exact and concise set-up on all machines within the work cell. Remove and replace tooling as required for a variety of parts. Perform precision set-ups involving alignment and securing of fixtures, setting speeds and feeds and various other parameters according to the part to be produced and the machine to be used. On initial set-up use precontrolled set-up procedures. Precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and dial indicators must be used. Work with the CNC control panel. Perform Production Run: Place part in holding fixture and clamp in place, start machine by push button, foot pedal or lever. Unclamp and remove part when machine completes operations. Deburr part, assemble parts, weld rivet, Double Disc, Notch the nose, and repeat the cycle. Check parts with gauges provided and record finding on charts. Make all adjustments necessary to ensure parts stay within specified control limits. Simultaneous set-up and operation of multiple machines is required due to long cycle times. Keep coolant and oil levels at the proper levels and concentrations. After hardening is done, check handle alignment and straighten if needed. Check joint tensions and adjust as needed. Weigh gage as needed. Check handle spread and gage as needed. Check nose gap and gage as needed. Rope cut pliers following standard procedures. Re-file as needed. Needle Nose pliers must have the nose adjusted to meet Quality standards. Cell operators will be required to learn all of the jobs that are performed within the work cell. Complete appropriate paperwork and maintain 5S requirements. Qualifications: Requires some initiative and ingenuity to achieve the proper goals. Job DescriptionDescription: The Machine Shop Operator is responsible for the set-up, production run, and general operations of the work cell. Processes and procedures employees are expected to follow are located in the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for each machine and function the associates perform. All associates are expected to read and understand the SOP prior to utilizing equipment or performing job-related tasks. On the job training available! Requirements: Typical job duties include: Set-Up: Make exact and concise set-up on all machines within the work cell. Remove and replace tooling as required for a variety of parts. Perform precision set-ups involving alignment and securing of fixtures, setting speeds and feeds and various other parameters according to the part to be produced and the machine to be used. On initial set-up use precontrolled set-up procedures. Precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and dial indicators must be used. Work with the CNC control panel. Perform Production Run: Place part in holding fixture and clamp in place, start machine by push button, foot pedal or lever. Unclamp and remove part when machine completes operations. Deburr part, assemble parts, weld rivet, Double Disc, Notch the nose, and repeat the cycle. Check parts with gauges provided and record finding on charts. Make all adjustments necessary to ensure parts stay within specified control limits. Simultaneous set-up and operation of multiple machines is required due to long cycle times. Keep coolant and oil levels at the proper levels and concentrations. After hardening is done, check handle alignment and straighten if needed. Check joint tensions and adjust as needed. Summary/Objective This position performs tasks required for the operation of hydraulic excavation equipment for the construction/upgrade of underground utilities, including communications conduit, gas, water, sewer, electric, and more. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Load and unload equipment in a manner that is secure and damage-free Transport associated tools, materials, and/or equipment safely Complete a daily inspection of equipment prior to commencing work In conjunction with the crew, operate the equipment to assist in placing underground utilities Operate equipment in accordance with company and industry standards Responsible for locating existing underground utilities and verifying them according to blueprints Identify utilities in the construction area and bore path Connect/stub-up conduit and wire, as required Dig pits, trenches, or potholes as required, including windows when crossing utilities Restore and/or landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite Accurately complete all required company documentation for each assignment (i. e. , timesheet, vehicle log, expense report) Adhere to all established company safety policies and perform work in a safe manner Perform other duties as assigned to help the team complete a project Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to read and interpret engineering/construction prints, plans, and specifications Knowledge of utility depths and placements Possess general knowledge of construction practices Ability to work in various environments/settings with moderate to loud noise levels Ability to work in trenches, excavations, and manholes Must have attention to detail and be thorough in completing work tasks Ability to work efficiently, independently, and collaboratively within a team environment Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to move materials/equipment weighing up to 80 pounds Ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Able to work 5-7 days a week, 10+ hours a day when necessary Willing to work outside in varying weather conditions Preferred Education and Experience One year of experience operating a directional bore drill Previous rock boring experience One year of Hydraulic Excavators, Skid Loader, and Dozer experience Class A CDL Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must be willing and able to travel out of town with occasional overnight stays to assigned projects Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds on an occasional basis Pass pre-employment drug test and criminal background screen Complete and pass a DOT Physical Physical Demands This position typically requires balancing, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, grasping, reaching, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climbing, hearing, and talking. Working Conditions The employee will be exposed to varying weather conditions as they will be driving in all types of conditions. Travel This position may require travel, which could include traveling to projects in different cities and overnight stays.
