Summary
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Global Grains and Processing Division. We are looking for a Production Operator in our Sunflower processing facility. This is a 3rd shift opportunity.
Responsibilities
Under general supervision, operate machinery and equipment of a processing facility. Responsible for product quality, meeting safety requirements, and throughput in the assigned area.
Conduct continuous inspections, monitor equipment, record operating parameters of key process points and make necessary machinery and equipment adjusments to ensure specifications and production targets are met.
Ensure effective implementation of QA policies and procedures, complete required sampling and testing of process streams, and understand and interpret QA results and take appropriate action when required.
Comply with and implement all regulations and requirements including completion of necessary record keeping.
Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance and equipment as required.
Responsible for housekeeping, sanitation schedule, and general appearance of the assigned work area.
Load and unload products from/to truck and rail and carry materials.
Monitor, maintain and care for all issued tools.
Successfully complete initial, ongoing and supplemental training.
Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Work together with co-workers in a professional manner to support overall plant operations, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Perform other duties as needed or assigned to support operations.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Production Operations
Must meet minimum age requirement

High School diploma or GED preferred

Minimum of two years experience in a combination of dozers, loaders, excavators and/or skid steers.

This position assists Pacific Ag (PA) with its services, values, and mission to growers, customers, and the community. The Loader Operator is responsible for directing loading zone operations in assigned locations, while loading and unloading baled product. The main objective in this role is guiding trucks, drivers, and any other people or vehicles to ensure safety and efficiency. The work will include routine (daily and weekly) activities.
A Loader Operator is regionally based and, generally, works a Monday-Friday schedule, year-round. During peak harvest season, a Loader Operator is often required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Practice and promote safe acts and behaviors in support of PA's goal of zero recordable injuries (Goal ZERO) and participate in continuous improvement efforts.
Hauling loader to assigned locations (usually field stacks and customer delivery locations), driving a semi-truck and trailer.
Loading and unloading trailers with baled product scheduled for delivery to customers, or inventory management purposes, while leading loading/unloading zones by directing trucks, truck drivers, and others in the area to ensure safety and efficiency of assigned loading/unloading operation.
Complete required paperwork accurately, legibly, and turn it in by required deadlines.
Ensure truck drivers have correct information to complete their required load/delivery paperwork.
Assist with strapping, securing, or otherwise fastening loads, stacks/inventory (including refastening tarps), equipment as needed.
Maintain safe, clean, and organized stacks, loading/unloading zones, vehicles, equipment, shop, and other assigned work areas.

Preparation of each label for production.
Thoroughly reviews the production schedule and determines the set up needs.
Prepares the line for startup and sustains production by checking for proper adjustments of extruding head, bringing in film and supplies, setting designated line speed and proper placement of all guards, making sure enough supplies are on hand and piping to line.
Keeps all equipment operational by making adjustments to equipment such as: wrapping heads, formers and turntables as needed.
Maintains constant weight control for minimal giveaway and documents checks on required paperwork.
Maintains quality by observing operations, and making adjustments by adjusting speed controls and troubleshooting.
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs into the shop floor system.
Ensures operation of equipment by troubleshooting malfunctions and calling mechanics for repairs when needed. Reports preventative maintenance issues as needed to keep line operational.
Communicates any issues or maintenance needs or irregularities with relieving employee to ensure and maintain efficient operations at shift change.
Performs daily cleaning in order to comply with GMP's (sweeping floors, emptying tubs, removing garbage, picking up caps, proper hand washing, wearing of appropriate PPE.
