This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a blow mold machine while maintaining the highest quality standards at all times. Primary responsibilities include:
Approaching work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset, and engaging in Producers Dairy Mission Statement to identify, value, prioritize, resource and sustain improvement opportunities.
Owning and promoting a Safety Culture by ensuring a safe work environment and promoting proper safety behavior.
Operates blowmold/extrusion machine, maintaining quality standards for all bottles produced using good manufacturing procedures, maintains proper weights, quantity ordered, leak checks and bottle wall thickness.
Maintains flow of bottle to filler at all times to prevent downtime or reduced filler efficiency due to lack of bottles.
Possesses good working knowledge of blowmold to assist in maintaining blowmold in good working conditions as well as trouble-shooting problems, sampling/testing resin for quality.
Helps Maintenance, when possible, fix problems and reduce downtime, writes work orders when repairs cannot be made while equipment is in operation.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
1-2 years machine operating experience
Blowmold/Extrusion experience preferred
Mechanical aptitude
Previous knowledge of basic equipment operations

WORK ENVIRONEMENT
In this position, the employee will regularly work with and around others; in a wet and/or humid environment; in areas of high noise level; and around mechanical, electrical, and pressurized equipment. The work is fast paced.

The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay range for prospective employees in this role is $28.40 per hour.

Job Description
Records production data for each batch in the ERP system, such as materials used, operators blending and mix time.
Measures materials and observes scales to determine batch weights are met and ensure correct load quantities.
Thoroughly cleans tanks and processing area to ensure batches are not contaminated.
Maintains safety in all phases of job performance, ensuring safe work practices are followed while utilizing proper PPE at all times.
Blending and/or mixing various chemical formulations to produce quality finished goods that meet customer specifications and DPG quality and safety standards.
Effectively communicates with other operators, management and other departments to ensure effective, timely delivery of batches to meet customer expectations.
Accurately use chemical pumps, material handling devices and general warehouse equipment.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent
1-2 years' experience as a chemical blender, with both liquid and powder blending.
Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., regular lifting up to 50 lbs., and infrequent lifting up to 75 lbs.
