The Equipment Operator reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for the safe and proper handling, loading and storage of aggregate materials; as well as the general housekeeping of plant property/equipment and premises as assigned by the Plant Manager. The daily work schedule may consist of up to 8+ hour days, with overtime on both a voluntary or mandatory basis for work week as well as on Saturdays, and occasional Sundays, depending upon business level requirements. Must be able to use various tools and equipment in a safe manner to perform job functions. These include but are not limited to broom, mop, pick, shovel, garden hoe, sledgehammer, rubber hammer, electric chipping hammer, air hammer, welder and other various hand and power tools as needed. General Duties: * Ensure that Mixer Truck Washdown area and other areas of the yard are kept clean and free of debris: * Uses high-pressure water hose. * Clean and maintain mixer truck washout pits in accordance with company procedures. * Properly handle and maintain inventory of reclaimed washout material. * Properly keep clean and maintain general exterior yard areas and plant premises including but not limited to: 1. Regular sweeping and mopping. 2. Litter and debris removal. 3. Emptying of exterior waste bins. 4. Maintain yard in accordance with environmental regulations. 5. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred; previous aerial lift experience preferred EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High School diploma or education equivalent preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of all knots, ropes and rigging devices used in tree trimming and removal operations. Must be able to identify tree species Must be familiar with electrical hazards and appropriate operating procedures when in proximity to electrical conductors and aerial techniques in the event of an emergency aloft Must be able to work and maneuver at considerable heights under varying and adverse weather conditions Must possess physical strength and agility, good balance, good depth perception and the ability to hear verbal instructions from a distance. Roadway Finish Loader Operator-Responsible for moving material ahead of the motor grader. * Must be able to sit or stand for multiple hours * Must be able to work long hours, weekends and as necessary to complete assignments. * Must be able to work in outdoor environments and be exposed to heat, rain, cold, wind, and other weather activities * Must be able to walk long distances. * Must be able to lift 50 lbs. * Must be able to perform manual labor including but not limited to raking, shoveling, chopping, hammering etc. * Must be able to wear required PPE as per safety manual and OSHA regulations. The responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Ensure company equipment is lawfully operated, cared for, maintained and used effectively. * Inspect all company equipment before each startup for brakes, horn, steering, fluids, back-up alarm as well as other safety and functional items * Operate all heavy equipment as requested including but not limited to: excavators, dozers, loaders, brooms, trucks, skid steers, rollers etc. * Assist with traffic control as needed * Work in outdoor environments consisting of, but not limited to, cold, heat, dust, smoke, rain and other extreme conditions as needed to complete work assigned * Assist laborers with manual labor which can include, but is not limited to raking, shoveling, hooking up pumps, installing pipe, mixing concrete, carrying materials, throwing sod, seeding, etc. * Ensure equipment is only operated in a safe manner * Wear all PPE as required per safety manual and OSHA regulations.
