Must be able to push/pull 150 pounds short distances. Lifting of up to 75 pounds repetitively. Standing required for up to 12 hours shifts with regular breaks. Job Title: Mixing Operator, Weekend Shift (Friday through Sunday, 6AM to 6:30AM, plus overtime) Reports to: Production Supervisor Department: Production The Chemical Compounding Operator operates, adjusts, and changes over chemical equipment involving such operations as weighing, measuring, mixing, and filtering liquids and solids to prepare batches of product from established recipes. Observes and reports occurrences in compounding, obtains samples for approval, corrects batches as instructed to maintain quality standards, moves materials and totes, and assists in cleaning equipment and area. Maintains appropriate documentation. Notifies supervisor of process, raw material or finished product deviations. Performs compounding tasks using established work instructions and SOPs. Ensures the even flow of the quality approved mixed compound throughout the manufacturing process must be self-driven and demonstrates a commitment to safety, manufacturing excellence, and quality. Responsibilities will include making batch mixes and transferring products into totes. Stages totes on racks to supply mixes to production lines. Duties: * Receive and check all incoming solvents for purity and quality specifications. * Check raw materials for contamination, weigh and mix raw materials as specified on the formulations/instructions. * Inspect scales for accuracy and operate equipment according to standard procedures. * Visually check mixing consistency of each batch, report inconsistencies, unusual conditions, or any process changes/problems to the Compounding Supervisor. * Load raw materials and solvents into mixer and mix in accordance with schedule and related work instructions. * Monitor mixing conditions and adjust setup as needed for mixing purposes. * Ensure mixer is clean of material buildup for changeovers to other materials. * Keep mixer chamber clean between batches. * Maintain cleanliness in the mixing area after every batch to prevent contamination. * Maintain efficient flow of machines to minimize production loss. * Report any problems immediately to supervision and participate in solutions to those problems. * Safety is a personal responsibility; verify that area and equipment are safe before proceeding with duties. * Check all safety equipment; follow all facility safety rules and procedures; wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) required. * Lock-out/Tag-out procedures must be adhered to when equipment is down for repair or cleaning. * Ability to clean tools and maintain identified tool boards while keeping workstation and surrounding area clean and organized. * Keep equipment in safe operating condition, report problems to Maintenance department. * Participate in training of new Associates as directed by the Supervisor. * Pump off each approved batch mixes into totes. * Stage totes for production as needed. * Be accountable for scrap, quality, production goals, housekeeping, and safety. * Promote a culture where safety becomes everyone's core value and working in a safe manner and adhering to the safety guidelines. * Strive for compliance excellence in environmental, health, safety and quality and ensure that best practices are being followed to minimize waste. * Ensure each and every compound mix meets quality specifications. * Participate in continuous improvement. * Effectively communicate with production filling department. * Maintain 5S in the mixing area. * Be on the spill clean-up crew. * Other duties as assigned. JOB TITLE: Assembly Operator-2nd Shift FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Manufacturing (Assembly) Under the direct supervision of the department supervisor, the Production Operator is assigned to standardized work of routine nature involving molding machine operation and/or assembly of molded part. Work generally involves the use of simple hand tools, trimming, retrieving, counting, weighing, packing and general overall inspection of part. Responsibilities include; distribution within the plant, placement and removal of parts from fixtures, monitoring and recording quality assurance, including charting of machine factors affecting quality. Production Operators/Associates are required to perform continuous visual and manual quality checks in accordance with standardized guidelines. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to stand for entire work shift. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Reads, understands, and follows Operator Instruction Sheet to determine part number(s), inspection procedures, packing requirements, and any special instruction. Retrieves, separates, inspects, counts, weighs, packs, and labels parts in accord with written and/or oral instructions. Utilizes clippers, knives, screwdrivers, and other simple hand tools to trim, cut, and prepare parts for other operations per safety procedures. Operates molding machines and/or air activated tools and equipment to assemble, decorate, or produce product. Advises supervision of machine malfunctions and unacceptable variances in product quality, e.g., flash, splay, contamination, underfill, etc. Compares, inspects, and monitors production quality to approved samples and accepts, rejects, or questions in accord with established standards. Performs simple clerical tasks involving recording and summarizing production as required. Examines, repairs, trims, counts, weighs and performs secondary operations as directed. Performs tasks in accord with standard levels of performance required to meet production rate established for specific part(s) being worked. Performs routine cleaning chores to maintain cleanliness of work station and area per 5S requirements. Interface with the production monitoring system. Assist in color changes / mold changes by cleaning work area or equipment. Set up for next job (i.e., sample board, OIS, packaging). Assist with breaks for other operators.
