Responsibilities

The Landscape & Hydro Seed Operator will be responsible for operating hydroseeding equipment, landscape machinery, and related tools to complete large-scale seeding, erosion control, and land restoration projects. This role is critical to meeting environmental, aesthetic, and compliance requirements for SunEnergy1's construction and solar development projects. The ideal candidate has strong experience with hydroseeding, landscape maintenance, and equipment operation, with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
Operate hydroseeding equipment, flatbeds, and other machinery to apply seed, mulch, fertilizer, and erosion control materials across utility-scale sites.
Read and interpret project plans, environmental requirements, and site specifications for seeding and restoration work.
Conduct daily inspections and perform basic maintenance on hydroseeding and landscape equipment.
Prepare seed mixes, fertilizer, and mulch solutions per project specifications.
Ensure compliance with environmental, stormwater, and erosion control standards.
Support landscape activities including mowing, planting, grading, and irrigation system setup.
Maintain accurate records of materials applied, acres covered, and daily activities.
Follow all site safety protocols, including PPE, equipment lockout/tagout, and traffic management procedures.
Collaborate with site managers, environmental teams, and subcontractors to ensure timely project completion.
Assist with other duties as assigned, such as erosion matting installation, silt fencing, or general site support.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.
Minimum 2+ years of experience in hydroseeding, landscaping, or related field.
Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to maintain/repair landscape and hydroseeding equipment.
Knowledge of seeding, soil preparation, erosion control methods, and local environmental regulations.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and stand/walk for long periods.
OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.
Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain within 6 months) a plus.
