What You Will Do
Operate heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, graders, rock trucks) to perform mass excavation and site preparation
Execute trench digging, ditch work, backfilling, and grading based on construction plans
Use GPS systems (Trimble Earthworks preferred) for precise excavation and mapping
Read and interpret blueprints to guide excavation and grading work
Maintain equipment through daily inspections and routine servicing
Assist in material handling: loading, unloading, spreading soil, gravel, or rocks

What You Bring
Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment for mass excavation
Proficient in operating excavators, bulldozers, graders, backhoes, and related machinery
Experience using Trimble Earthworks or similar GPS-enabled control systems
Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Training and Experience:
* Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to show competence in the operation and maintenance of a truck-tractor with a 16 ton trailer, and
* experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to show competence in the operation and maintenance of a D-8 bulldozer, as applicable to the position, and
* applicants will be required to demonstrate such competency by satisfactorily passing an assessment exercise administered by the Department of Environmental Management, and
* possession of a valid State of Hawai'i Commercial Driver License (Class A) at time of appointment*; (If you have an out-of-state CDL, you must transfer it to a Hawai`i issued CDL by the time of appointment), and
* a current Department of Transportation Medical Examiner's Certificate at the time of filing (scan and attach a copy of your current certificate to your application), and

2. Rolls asphalt to meet finish surface specifications, including compaction, surface smoothness and removal of lines/roller marks.
3. Adjusts vibration and amplitude on vibratory roller according to different operating conditions or mixes.
4. Maintains roller by cleaning spray bars and filling tank with water, checks oil and water levels.
5. Checks vehicle(s) prior to driving and completes required CDL checklists.
6. Follows DOT, OSHA and Company safety regulations and policies.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS
1. High school graduate or equivalent preferred
2. 5 years paving experience required; knowledge of asphalt mix designs; familiarity with asphalt temperature, movement, and various finished surfaces.
3. Ability to read, write and complete equipment reports.
4. Valid license and favorable traffic abstract. CDL Type B with N. endorsement required.

Assist with facility cleanliness, organization, and rotation of stocks of both raw materials and finished goods
