The City of Fishers is seeking experienced Backhoe / Loader Operators to join our seasonal snow removal team. This temporary role is a great way to make extra money during the long, cold winter! Help keep school and municipal properties clear of snow and safe for the public by joining the best snow removal team in the state. This is a seasonal, on-call position that will only be called to duty during city winter weather events. Shifts are 12 hours and will typically be nights from 9pm-9am or 10pm - 10am. Start times of shifts are not flexible but end times of shifts can be flexible based on your availability. If you cannot work a full 12 hour shift, please apply and let us know your availability when we contact you. If substantial snowfall or ice is expected, this additional staff will be placed on-call with as much advance notice as possible. Once committed to on-call status, operators will be expected to be rested and ready to work their full shift if called upon. All equipment will be provided by the City. Job Description Job Title: Loader Operator - Utility Division We are seeking a skilled Loader Operator to join our Utility Division team. The primary responsibility of this role is to operate track and tire loaders for the installation of underground utilities, including water, storm water, and sewer systems. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on safety and teamwork and will assist in overseeing project tasks to ensure successful project completion. Key Responsibilities: Safely operate track and tire loaders for mainline digging and the installation of water, storm water, and sewer lines. Assist the Foreman with the planning, scheduling, and execution of project tasks. Lead and supervise a crew of 3-5 workers in the Foreman's absence to ensure timely and efficient progress. Collaborate with the team to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times. Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to the completion of the project. Job Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of experience operating loaders in construction or utility projects. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications accurately. Strong knowledge of utility installation processes and equipment. Ability to work independently and take initiative when needed. Must provide own reliable transportation to and from the job site. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working with water, storm water, and sewer systems. The primary function of this position is to operate mill equipment and manufacture high-quality feed efficiently, while proactively solving issues to prevent production downtime. Operating Hours: Monday - Friday: 7 AM to 4:00 PM, hours may vary depending on business needs. Key Responsibilities: Micro batch hand adds for mixer. Restock and rotate warehouse with site products, ingredients, medications, and pellets. Package & palletize 20-60 lb. bags of feed, and rotate old product. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility, fix broken bags, and perform inventory control. Receive and rotate incoming ingredients in the warehouse. Pick or load outbound products for customers, other United facilities, and United delivery trucks. Additional Responsibilities: Maintain quality wood pallets for shipping. Other duties as assigned. Typical Work Environment: Work is primarily conducted in a feed mill/warehouse/outside environment with extremes in temperature and dust. Essential Functions Direct truck drivers on-location during unloading and loading. Operate scale and record weights and dimensions accurately. Operate packaging equipment to securely transport inbound, cross-dock, and outbound loads. Load and unload at standard rate of production.
