    The City of Fishers is seeking experienced Backhoe / Loader Operators to join our seasonal snow removal team. This temporary role is a great way to make extra money during the long, cold winter! Help keep school and municipal properties clear of snow and safe for the public by joining the best snow removal team in the state. This is a seasonal, on-call position that will only be called to duty during city winter weather events. Shifts are 12 hours and will typically be nights from 9pm-9am or 10pm - 10am. Start times of shifts are not flexible but end times of shifts can be flexible based on your availability. If you cannot work a full 12 hour shift, please apply and let us know your availability when we contact you. If substantial snowfall or ice is expected, this additional staff will be placed on-call with as much advance notice as possible. Once committed to on-call status, operators will be expected to be rested and ready to work their full shift if called upon. All equipment will be provided by the City. Examples of Duties Primary responsibility will be moving and removing snow from parking lots that fall under the City's snow removal jurisdiction. Minimum Qualifications Minimum five years experience operating back hoes and articulating loaders; At least one season of snow plow experience preferred; Valid Indiana Driver's License; Ability to be insured to drive a city vehicle required (driving record will be reviewed); 3 years of experience as a licensed driver required not including learner's permit time; Good communication skills; Ability to work at night; Reliable transportation to and from work site or start location; Basic mechanical knowledge of equipment.
