Participates in the care and maintenance of tools and equipment; cleans, services, and makes minor adjustments as necessary. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator (2nd shift) to set up, operate, and maintain machinery in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring equipment runs smoothly, producing high-quality parts or products according to specifications. This role plays a critical part in our production process, requiring attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and productivity. Shift 2: 2-10:30pm Compensation: $22.00/hour to $24.00/hour (depending on experience) + $3.00 Shift Differential Responsibilities Operate and monitor assigned machinery and equipment according to established procedures and safety standards. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance. Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, or production schedules to determine job instructions. Inspect parts and finished products for quality and accuracy using measuring tools. Record production data, including output, downtime, and defects. Adjust machine settings as necessary to maintain product specifications and minimize waste. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals. Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to maintenance or supervisory staff. Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and quality control standards. Skills / Qualifications High school diploma or GED is a plus; vocational or technical training preferred. Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus. Experience operating or working with mills (manual or CNC) or other metalworking machinery is highly desirable. Familiarity with machining processes such as cutting, drilling, or grinding. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues. Basic math and measurement skills. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, or schematics. The operator must be proficient in operating machinery such as D8-D9 dozers and 345-352 excavators in accordance with project specifications to ensure efficient and compliant operations. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for the daily servicing and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are maintained throughout the project duration. The equipment operator will need to be highly skilled in navigating and operating machinery in mountainous terrain, which presents unique challenges such as pioneering access to build up extremely steep slopes, uneven surfaces, rocky mountain terrain, and potential for landslides or loose soil. Proper training in mountain-specific safety protocols, equipment handling, and environmental considerations is essential to ensure safe and efficient operations in this rugged environment. 30-85% GRADE IN SHEER ROCK CONDITIONS. PRIMARY DUTIES Operate equipment efficiently to maintain production goals Assist with setup and tear down of plants Perform general maintenance, repair, and service equipment as required or directed by supervisor General housekeeping of equipment and plant daily or as directed by supervisor Individuals must be able to lift objects weighing 80 lb. on a regular basis The use of a shovel to move material will be necessary Perform all duties within safety guidelines set up by M.S.H.A. and company policy Perform pre-shift inspections on equipment prior to startup Perform other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS Applicants must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or GED Minimum of 3+ years' experience with D8-D9 dozers and 345-352 excavators Must have GPS experience, Trimble experience preferred Must have experience operating heavy equipment at 30-85% grade on sheer rock conditions Must be able to pass a Government Background Check Must hold an M.S.H.A. 5000-23 certificate Able to operate equipment efficiently to maintain project specifications Team player Mechanical knowledge of equipment and being able to perform routine maintenance Basic knowledge of welding and using a cutting torch Flexibility to work overtime or weekends if required Fisher Industries is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
