Responsibilities : Prioritize, plan and prepare work. Analyze tasks and establish appropriate sequence of operations Read prints & job orders for product specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances and machine set-up requirements Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on machines Set-up and safely operate various machining equipment such as manual and CNC lathes, mills, jig bores, and grinders in order to machine or grind components to customer specifications Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors or enter commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media. Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications using precision measuring devices (such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc..) Qualifications Knowledge and Skills: Must have math & mechanical skills/aptitude Must have the ability & desire to do precision work Able to work well independently and cooperatively with team Candidates must be able to stand 8-10 hours per day, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Position is primarily daylight, but candidates must be available for daylight, afternoon and midnight shifts and potentially Saturday morning when workload requires.
