Finish Loader Operator- are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Loader which is equipped with a front-mounted, hydraulically powered bucked or scoop and is used to transport aggregate or other materials, feed hoppers or chutes, and/or stockpile aggregates on a Grade Crew.
Responsibilities:
Operate the Loader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment as well as routine cleaning to ensure smooth operation of the Loader.
Operate the Loader controls to lower and tilt bucket and drive forward to force bucket into bulk material, move lever to raise and tilt bucket when filled, or to dump material.
Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
Operate Loader on public or private roadways, maintaining proper awareness of one's surroundings.
Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area.
Perform job tasks in an outdoor setting which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Desired Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift to 40 pounds
2+ years' experience in similar position
Knowledge of road construction materials, processes and industry requirements
Knowledge of Loader and other heavy equipment and understanding of computerized controls and electronics

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Operates motorized heavy equipment at designated proficiency level involved in the construction and/or maintenance of roads, drainage projects, utilities infrastructure and other construction projects. Utilizes various heavy equipment and performs manual labor on transportation, drainage and/or utilities projects: pouring and forming concrete, installing drainage related projects including but not limited to pipes in lots and canals and under streets, lowering and raising drainage culverts, machine cleaning drainage swales, laying sod, maintenance and construction of water and wastewater lines or digging and covering trenches, patching roads and sidewalks, installing culverts, etc. Mows fields and/or canal areas. Receives instruction and trains in use of various equipment, as time and workload permits.
Inspects drainage or utilities construction projects to ensure compliance to project specifications; reviews work performed and reviews complaints or concerns from citizens concerning drainage or utilities projects. Inspects work areas prior to beginning work, and ensures safety of work sites and practices. Maintains logs and records of maintenance and repair work performed. Completes and signs work orders for completed assignments. Performs data entry to input pertinent information into the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Performs routine maintenance to include the daily cleaning of the truck and all equipment. Performs minor maintenance and related care of equipment.
Responsible for directing traffic around construction sites and ensuring proper signage is displayed. Must be prepared to assist drivers and pedestrians with route directions when asked. Responds to citizen and staff complaints and other concerns that involve any of the functions described herein. Uses courtesy and tact when dealing with the public and employees.
When assigned to Utilities: Performs skilled work installing, maintaining and repairing water and sewer lines and associated fixtures. Work involves installing water and sewer lines, mains, valves, hydrants and meters; and maintaining and repairing such fixtures. Employee is also responsible for inspecting water and sewer lines, including searching for leaks and measuring flow; and locating lines and fixtures for contractors, other utility companies, other City personnel, etc.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
May be assigned to shift work. May be required to work weekends and holidays. May be required to respond to after hour calls. May be required to work with and for other divisions and departments within the organization. About The Role:
The role requires previous experience in operating a Kodak Nexpress. You must be a highly self-motivated individual who takes a flexible approach to managing workloads and demands and ensures detailed attention is paid to all work. Enthusiasm and a high level of focus are essential. The work will be fast paced and we require the successful candidate to rise to this challenge.
Key Responsibilities:
Running the Kodak Nexpress on a daily basis.
Ripping files produced from static and variable data files using digital print equipment.
Excellent colour vision and understanding for digitally manipulating colour calibration set-up to meet expectations for colour targets.
Reviewing all proofs and final product samples produced on digital equipment before releasing to internal or external customers.
Conducting regular and special maintenance on equipment to achieve maximum machine performance.
Recording maintenance and service calls in maintenance log book as required.
Inventory management and ordering spare parts.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all print is finished to the highest standards prior to dispatch.
Qualifications
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in running the Kodak Nexpress and a user certification will be a plus.
Must demonstrate flexibility in being able to operate different equipment and undertake· Willingness to learn new processes and methods of working
Energetic & Enthusiastic approach· Recent and stable work history is required
