This position reports to the Production Supervisor
Responsibilities/Job Description:
Prepare, pour, weigh (metric and non-metric), blend, and determine mixing sequences of food products assistance
Read and interpret recipe formulas ensuring all ingredients have been compiled
Provide support to maintain the plant/facility to GMP standards/requirements by sweeping, mopping, cleaning and/or sanitizing floors, production equipment and parts, utensils, work surfaces and countertops, walls, racking, desktops, scales, etc.
Wear PPE as required and/or instructed
Learn to assist and operate designated equipment levers and/or controls to perform manufacturing operations per SOP/Instructions
Participate in on-the-job training as required, including cross-training in other departments to meet business needs
Work in a team setting
Ability to record, calculate and verify data while also ensuring accurate, clear, and complete documentation for GMP records
Learn how to read and interpret gauges, vacuum, pressure, and temperature levels
Assist in collecting testing, packaging, and other support for production data for each food batch or operation
Learn and assist in inspecting plant equipment for leaks, blockages, proper function, and/or other malfunctions
Assist in visually inspect food for consistency in texture, clarity, and bouquet
Learn how to operate heavy equipment such as a forklift, order picker, floor cleaners, etc.
Work safely, adhering to all company and OSHA safety regulations, policies, and/or expectations
Perform basic duties and/or tasks as directed by your supervisor and/or Management and comply with daily production schedule support
Comply with all written policies including but not limited to; all company policies, work instructions, SOPs, and GMP requirements
Flexibility to learn and perform other duties as needed and assigned including but not limited to, working overtime, working weekends, and flexing work schedules up or down to meet business needs
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, frequently reach with hands and arms, twist, bend frequently, stoop, squat, lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds

Records all item and lot number information on production ticket. Documents and updates mix tickets and log book, ensuring that all information is written truthfully and legibly. Enters all information into computer system for tracking and accountability purposes, ensuring that all information is correct.
Lifts and places raw materials into appropriate tote or tank equipment or mixers via automatic or manual lifting. Properly labels bulk containers, mixes etc.
Keeps Quality Control and Research & Development departments informed, to ensure correct amounts of raw materials are used and to recommend improvements to existing products.

Training and Development information
Training & Development (T&D) assignments are temporary assignments of up to 24 months for training purposes. DSH encourages the use of T&D assignments to provide employees the opportunity to obtain any or a combination of the following:
* Provide the experience necessary to satisfy the experience component of the minimum qualifications of the T&D classification or gain competencies for the preferred or desirable qualifications of the T&D classification.
* Provide employees broader experience and skills that will improve their ability to perform in their current position.
* Help prepare employees for future promotions; or
* Facilitate an employee's entry into a new occupational field.
An employee must have permanent status in their present State classification. An employee currently in a Limited Term position is not eligible for a T&D assignment. The employee may, but is not required to, satisfy the minimum qualifications of the T&D classification; except, the employee shall possess any licensure, certificate, or similar credential that is a component of the minimum qualifications.

Basic Job Functions:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Attend safety meetings and participate in safety program.
Operate heavy equipment of various sizes including cranes and loaders, etc.
Duties include, but are not limited to: loading scrap material onto shredder feed conveyor, pushing shred pile up, moving material throughout the yard, and/or loading trucks and railcars, etc.
Perform daily inspections on equipment reporting any defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
Keep grounds clear of debris while maintaining safety standards.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Operate small equipment such as a forklift or skid steer if needed.
General labor duties that may include but not limited to sweeping, shoveling and general clean-up of any area and/or equipment throughout the yard.
Effectively communicate over radio with teammates for traffic coordination, production, and safety procedures.
Willing to cross-train in other positions and assist other employees as needed.
Other duties as assigned by your manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while providing excellent customer service.
Minimum of 3-years previous heavy equipment operation in manufacturing environments, preferably in the scrap metal or construction industries.
Knowledge of heavy equipment operating principles, hazards and safety precautions as well as mechanical ability.
Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
Ability to adapt to frequent changes of priority and complete job tasks safely and effectively without constant supervision.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
