The Laser Marking & Welding Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining laser welding and engraving equipment. The operator will also perform manual scribe line operations and bead blasting as per specifications. Essential Job Functions:
Set up and operate laser welding and laser marking machines (LW300A, Telesis, FOBA) and perform manual scribe line operations per job specifications.
Perform manual scribe line operations using mechanical tools, stencils, or other precision instruments, relying on hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Operate bead blasting equipment to process parts according to defined specifications and surface finish requirements.
Follow instructions and directives from Team Leads and Supervisors regarding work prioritization.
Interpret engineering drawings, including orthographic projections, and follow detailed process diagrams and technical documentation.
Prepare workpieces for welding, marking, or scribe line operations, ensuring proper setup and cleanliness.
Inspect and measure finished products using precision tools (e.g., calipers, comparators) to verify conformance to specifications.
Perform basic product inspections and functional tests (e.g., QR Code verification).
Set and control machine parameters and files based on defined settings and process requirements.
Perform preventive maintenance duties on laser and related equipment as scheduled or directed.
Collaborate with engineers during R&D phases to support new product development and process testing.
Accurately document inspection results, job progress, and data entries in the ERP/MES system.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization at workstations (5S).
Adhere to all safety, ESD, and PPE protocols during operations.
Perform tasks with a focus on minimizing rework and repair by adhering to quality standards and best practices.
Demonstrate a commitment to efficiency by meeting or exceeding process times while upholding quality standards and adjusting to the specialized needs of less frequently built custom models.
Qualifications:
Hands-on experience in a manufacturing, production, or mechanical assembly environment.
Willingness and ability to learn and operate laser marking or welding equipment (experience with any industrial laser platform is a plus but not required).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, process diagrams, and technical documentation.
Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Basic computer skills and experience with manufacturing software or databases.
Education and Experience:

Responsibilities
Operate and monitor assigned machinery and equipment according to established procedures and safety standards.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance.
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, or production schedules to determine job instructions.
Inspect parts and finished products for quality and accuracy using measuring tools.
Record production data, including output, downtime, and defects.
Adjust machine settings as necessary to maintain product specifications and minimize waste.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals.
Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to maintenance or supervisory staff.
Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and quality control standards.
Skills / Qualifications
High school diploma or GED is a plus; vocational or technical training preferred.
