Come join our family, We Dig Your Future!™ Currently offering sign-on bonuses for qualified candidates! **Must have WET UTILITIES experience (dry utilities, oil, & gas will not be considered)** Responsibilities Operates heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in road, site or highway construction and paving Operates heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life Performs daily safety and maintenance checks Cleans heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required Maintains the equipment and advise supervisor of any requirement for maintenance or repairs Maneuver heavy equipment into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that the vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned. Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance Uses equipment as appropriate to level roads and/or working area, ensure proper drainage, and develop proper grade. Use various pieces of equipment to perform fine grading and finishing, sloping and banking, backfilling, demolition, ditching, loading, excavating and stockpiling. Uses equipment as appropriate to level roads and/or working area, ensure proper drainage, and develop proper grade Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task Properly follows all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment Reports any problems to your immediate supervisor Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and materials with shovel Follows direction of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite May be called upon to run small power tools such as jack hammer Digs, spreads, and levels construction materials Lifts, carries and holds material, tools and supplies Maintains regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required Other duties as assigned Safety Responsible for ensuring OSHA standards and company safety policies are complied with at all times including but not limited to operation of tools, equipment and machinery Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately Qualifications Considerable knowledge of equipment operations and construction and maintenance procedures Must possess a working knowledge of grades and blueprints Skill in operation of assigned equipment Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
